Admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Allahabad University

The Allahabad University has announced the admissions to its various undergraduate and post graduate programmes in law, computer science, teaching and other fields. The details about the availability of forms and there submission and entrance test has been given in this article.

University of Allahabad

The Allahabad University is one of the esteemed universities in India. It was established on 23rd September 1887 and is considered the fourth oldest university in India. It was founded as a Central College in 1873 first by Sir William Muir, then Lt.Governor of United Provinces and later it was proposed to set up the university. Since its inception the University's campus underwent various extensions and additions as and when the requirement was felt. There have been many new buildings that have come up like the J.K.Institute of Applied Physics, the new Gymnatic Hall, Mathematics Department, Department of Business Administration, Law Faculty and Gandhi Bhavan.
With regard to the boarding facilities of women, the university has constructed Sarojini Naidu, Priyadarshini Girls Hostel and recently the Shatabdi Girls Hostel has been added to the list to boost women education.`

    The university has announced admission to its various graduate and undergraduate courses and programmes for the academic year 2013-14.
    The details about the various courses and programme along with their details of important dates , entrance test centres and contact information has been provided below.

    Admission 2013 to law courses

    The University has invited the applications for its 5 year integrated law course i.e. B.A LL.B (Hons.), 3 year LL.B course and LL.M for the academic session 2013-14. The department of law of the Allahabad university has the honour of producing some of the most prominent personalities in the field of law like Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru, Dr. Kailash Nath Katju and Justice Wali Ullah.   • Admission to LL.B 3 year course through LAT-2013

    The Department of law conducts the Law Admission Test for admitting students into its 3 year undergraduate law course LL.B. The details about eligibility, date of test etc. has been given below.

    Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen and must have passed the qualifying examinations from Allahabad University or any other recognized University.

  • The candidate must have secured minimum of 45% marks(40% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination:

    1. B.A/B.Com/B.Sc (Hons.)

    2. B.A/B.Com/B.Sc 3 year degree course exam in 10+2+3 system.

    3. B.A/B.Com /B.Sc exam according to 10+2+3 rule on or before 1987

    4. B.A/B.Com B.Sc exam in 1988 or following years according to 10+2+3 or 11+3 system and must have passed the bridge course exam or PG exam

    5. B.Sc (Ag.)/B.E/B.Tech./MBBS exams.

  • General category candidate must not be more than 30 years of age as on 1st July 2013. SC/ST/OBC candidates have a relaxation of 5 years in age criteria i.e they cannot be more than 35 years of age as on 1st July, 2013.

  • Application form and Computerized Registration form

    Every aspiring candidate who wants to appear for the LAT-2013 test must fill the application form and computerized registration form after making a definite payment within a time period. Later the candidate needs to submit the form to appear for LAT-2013.
    Challan must be downloaded from the University's website in favour of "Finance Officer, University of Allahabad" or Rs 600/- for General and OBC candidates and for SC/ST candidates for Rs 300/-.
    The candidates can submit the application form for LAT-2013 online also at the website Also there is online prospectus for LAT-2013 that can be downloaded from the website.
    The main requirements for the online submission of the application form are the scanned copy of the candidate's photo and signature. These need to be uploaded in the application form. After filling the application form the candidate would be given an Application ID and a password that would be used for downloading Admit card.

    The eligibility criteria for appearing in LL.M admission test is as follows:-
  • The candidate must have completed LL.B course from any recognized university.

  • The candidate must have secured minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the qualification exam.

  • Students in the final year of LL.B may also appear for the LL.M admission test if they are able to produce the final year marksheet on or before the admission date.

  • Important Details

  • The admission forms are available on the for downloading and submitting.

  • After successfully submitting the application form online, the candidate would get the Application ID and password, which would be used for generating the Admit card.

  • The admission test would consist of 3 parts each of 100 marks and the duration would be of 3 hours.

  • Admission Test fee:The candidates need to first pay the admission test fee of Rs 700/- for General/OBC and Rs 350/- for SC/ST at any bank by downloading Challan form from University website
