When Adsense payment is on hold - what to do next to get your Adsense PIN
More and more bloggers, content writers and authors are being approved by Google Adsense with unique Adsense Publisher ID but after reaching the threshold limit, PIN is automatically generated and Adsense Payments are put on hold. Learn the steps to be followed if you do not receive your Adsense PIN mailer.
What is Google Adsense PIN or Personal Identification Number
When the Adsense earnings cross the threshold limit, which are presently 10US$ for publishers in India, Google automatically generates the PIN and the payments are put on hold till the PIN is provided.Why Adsense PIN generation and importance of PIN
If you are an approved Adsense publisher, then in the Adsense dashboard under account settings you must be seeing account information with Publisher ID, Customer ID, Payee's Name, Address, Account Type and Phone Number etc. In the address column the name of the payee can be seen with a link to verify address. So far Google Adsense had been relying upon the physical address provided by you but now the Google Adsense wants to verify your address and Payee's name beyond doubt for which the publisher has to pass through the process of PIN generation and address verification. Please make sure that Payee's name matches exactly with the name in the Bank Account.What happens after PIN is generated
Adsense payments are put on hold and through account settings when you check the reason you find that you need to enter six digit PIN for getting verified with Adsense. Never attempt filling wrong PIN or your own PIN as you will see a message that PIN is generated on dd/mm/yyyy and it will be mailed to you so as to reach you within 2 to 4 weeks of generation depending on your physical location and delivery methods available in your area.Payment settings updation
Make sure that you have updated and submitted the Tax Information through tax wizard help available in the Adsense account.Select the Payment method applicable in your country for example Check - Standard Deliver - INR for India. Remove self hold if any if you want to make sure that system of receiving Adsense checks is working properly and you can put self hold again if you so desire.PIN not received, Delayed or Lost in Transit
Even after 4 weeks if you do not receive the PIN mailer (Specimen Shown in the Image) from Google Adsense Support, USA then under the account setting in Adsense click the verify address link which will take you to the page where either you need to fill in the six digit PIN received in the mailer or you can opt for Requesting new PIN. You have the option to request for new PIN twice. Google Adsense Support will be sending you maximum three PIN mailers and you can use any six digit PIN which is received first irrespective of its generation date. Once you enter the PIN your address gets verified and Payment on Hold is added and updated to your Adsense earnings.What to do if PIN mailer is still not received
After availing the facility of three PIN generations as above and after waiting for at least 4 weeks after the date of last generation of the Adsense PIN, the publisher can send a scanned copy of official ID document like Passport, UID as per further instruction available on the Google Adsense dashboard help on the left side upper corner. @Ashok Goyal, I have received 4 PIN mailers in quick succession from Google. I do not know as to which PIN should be used to verify the address. The latest, first or any of the four PINs.
