Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology (DUIET) is a constituent institution of Dibrugarh University, the eastern most University of India. The institution was established in the year 2009 at Rajabheta, Dibrugarh in the state of Assam. All the branches of Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology are duly approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology offers four years B.Tech programme in the following branches-
1. Petroleum Engineering
2. Mechanical Engineering
3. Electronics & Communication Engineering
4. Computer Science & Engineering
5. Civil Engineering (AICTE approval awaited) Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Programme
1. Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) or any other recognized board with English, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as subjects provided they have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories).
2. Diploma holders and B.Sc passed candidates can also apply through lateral entry. For Diploma holders, they must have secured at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate in the branch of examination in which they desire to pursue B.Tech programme (or in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering Diploma examination for candidates seeking to study B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering) & for B.Sc passed candidates, they must have secured at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate in Mathematics and Physics in the B.Sc examination.Selection Procedure
Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit in CEE 2013 and JEE (Main) 2013. For lateral entry candidates, a separate State Level Entrance Examination will be conducted by Dibrugarh University. Candidates can obtain information brochure and application form for B.Tech Programmes from the websites www.dibru.ac.in and www.duiet.org. Candidates have to deposit the application fee of Rs. 500/- through Bank Challan available with the application form to the A/C No. 32968598069 of SBI, Dibrugarh University Branch . The printed copy of the application form with all necessary documents along with the Dibrugarh University copy of the Bank Challan is to be sent to the Director, Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dibrugarh University, Pin: 786004, Dibrugarh, Assam on or before 14th June 2013 and 15th July, 2013 for lateral entry candidates.
