Introduction to Saveetha University
The Saveetha University has two campuses – one is located at Poonamallee and the another is located at Thandalam. The institution was first started as Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust in 1986 and then Saveetha Dental College was established on 18th November 1988. The growth of the institute was started Saveetha College of Nursing in 1992, College Physiotherapy in 1993, Saveetha Engineering College in 2001, College of Engineering and Technology in 2005, Saveetha Medical College and Saveetha School of Management in 2008 and Saveetha School of Law in 2009. On 18th March 2005, Saveetha University was declared deemed to be university under section of the UGC Act 1956 by the Government of India.

The candidate is selected based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ TANCET/ CMAT and also the performance in the interview and group discussion. Doctor in Philosophy (Ph.D)
Eligibility criteria
Master degree in Engineering/ Architecture/ Management/ Science/ Humanities/ Dental science/ MD/ MS/ Nursing/ Physiotherapy/ Medical science (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, microbiology) from any recognized university is eligible is apply for the programme.Duration of the course
The minimum duration period to complete the programme is 3 years for full time and 4 years for part time.Admission procedure
The candidate is selected based on the aptitude for research and the performance in the interview and the selection test. The interview and selection test will be conducted at council hall, Saveetha Medical College, Saveetha nagar, Thandalam, Chennai – 602 105.Important dates
Interview
The candidate will receive an interview call letter before 10th July 2013 and should attend the interview on the particular date mentioned. Then the selected list of candidates will be announced in the university website and also mail will be sent to candidate personally.

The candidate can collect the application form in person from the university or can be downloaded from the university website.Application fee
The cost of the application form is Rs. 1,000/- for the candidate collecting the application form in person from the university and also to the person downloading from the website.
The cost of the application form is Rs. 1,050/- for the candidate obtaining the application form by the post.Mode of payment
The application form payment should be made by DD, in the favour of 'Saveetha University', payable at Chennai.Fee structure
The selected candidate, should pay the admission and annual fee immediately. The candidate should pay the fee in the month of May every year.
Note: Once the fees is paid will not be refunded. And also the candidate decided to discontinue from the course in the middle of the course, then the candidate should pay the entire course fee for 2 years before discontinuing.

For Ph.D
Internal – Rs. 10,000/-
External – Rs. 25,000/-
Internal – Rs 25,000/-
External – Rs 50,000/-
Annual fee includes laboratory, library, research, internet, sports and cultural fee.
