About Dibrugarh University
Dibrugarh University is the second oldest University in the north-eastern region. This easternmost University of India was established in the year 1965. Since its inception, Dibrugarh University has been providing quality education and thus the University established itself as one of the top twenty among the 285 state Universities of India. The University is located at Rajabheta of Dibrugarh district in the state of Assam. Admission to M.Tech. in Petroleum Exploration & Production
Number of seats : 20
Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech. degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering or M.Sc. in Geology or Applied Geology with at least minimum 55% marks in aggregate from any recognized University. Candidates with M.Sc. in Geology or Applied Geology must have mathematics as one of the subject in B.Sc level.
Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission to M.Tech. in Petroleum Exploration & Production on the basis of an interview which will be held on 9thJuly '13 from 10:00 AM onwards in the Department of Petroleum Technology .

Number of seats : 15
Tuition fee : Rs. 30,000/- per semester
Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must have obtained M.Sc./ M.Sc.Tech. Degree from any UGC recognized University with at least 55% marks in aggregate or CGPA 7.0 in in Applied Geology or Geology or Physics or Mathematics. Candidates who have qualified in GATE will get most preference.
Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission to M.Tech. in Exploration Geophysics on the basis of an interview which will be held on the admission day.

Admission to M.Sc in Biotechnology
Number of seats : 25
Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must have passed bachelor degree in Biological Sciences or Agricultural Sciences or Veterinary Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medical Sciences from any recognized institute with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates must have Chemistry as one of the optional subject in their undergraduate level.
Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission to M.Sc in Biotechnology on the basis of an entrance test followed by personal interview. The entrance test will be of 100 marks consisting of objective type questions on the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Admission to M.Sc. in Bioinformatics
Number of seats : 21
Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must have passed bachelor degree in any one of the field of Biological, Veterinary, Agricultural, Medical, Pharmaceutical sciences, Biotechnology and Engineering from any recognized institute with at least 45% marks in aggregate (50% marks for general course candidates). Those who have passed bachelor degree in science field, they should have any two of the subjects- Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission to M.Sc in Bioinformatics on the basis of merit in their qualifying examination.

Admission to Master of Social Work (MSW) Course
Number of seats : 25
Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must have passed bachelor degree from any recognized university or institute with at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories). Candidates who are appearing this year in the qualifying examination can also apply for the course.
Selection procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission to Master of Social Work (MSW) Course on the basis of a Written Test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Each category will carry marks as follows-
1. Written Test – 50 Marks
2. Group Discussion – 30 Marks
3. Personal Interview – 20 Marks
Candidates must have obtain at least 40% marks in each category to qualify for admission. The Written Test will examine candidate's knowledge about various present social issues, general knowledge and analytical abilities of English. The Written Test will be held at Department of Sociology Building , Dibrugarh University.

Admission to Bachelor of Library & Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.) Programme
Number of seats : 24
Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must have passed bachelor's degree from any recognized institute or University with at least 45% marks in major or general courses.
Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission to Bachelor of Library & Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.) programme on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination, marks obtained in an entrance test followed by viva-voce.

Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must have passed B.L.I.Sc. with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized University or institute.
Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected purely on the basis of merit for admission to Master of Library & Information Science programme.

Eligibility Criteria :
For Theatre Arts : Candidates must have passed bachelor degree in Performing Arts/ Drama/Theatre Art from any recognized University or institution. Candidates who are not from Drama stream, can also apply for admission provided they have to appear in an Entrance Test to be conducted by Dibrugarh University.
For Sattriya Dance : Candidates must have passed bachelor degree in Performing Arts (Dance Specialization)/ Sattriya Dance/ Indian Classical Dance from any recognized University or institution. Candidates who are not from Dance stream, can also apply for admission provided they have to qualify in a Entrance Test.
For Vocal Music : Candidates must have passed bachelor degree with music from any recognized University or institution with minimum 50% marks.
Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of an Entrance Test PET to be conducted by the University.

Fee Structure : Tuition fee per annum Rs. 6,000/-, for endowments seats Rs. 45,000/- per year.

Dibrugarh University has also announced admission into Master of Arts (M.A.) in Anthropology, Assamese, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Philosophy, Sociology and Statistics, Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Anthropology, Applied Geology, Chemistry, Geography, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics for which candidates have to obtain bachelor degree with 45% marks in aggregate in the relevant subjects.
