The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) is a non- profit Institute registered under the Andhra Pradesh, Public Societies Registration Act, Act I of 1350 F. It was founded in the year 1984. With an aim to promote quality higher education, ICFAI sponsors a total of Eleven Private universities and Top- class business schools all over India. The ICFAI University, Tripura was established in 2004. It is registered under Tripura Act 8 of 2004. The ICFAI University, Tripura has got approval of University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is also NCTE approved. Association of Indian Universities, Association of commonwealth Universities and Federation of Universities has announced the university as a member. The campus of the ICFAI University, Tripura is situated in Agartala. The campus is covers an area of 32 acres. The campus is constituted of academic blocks, faculty rooms, workshops, library, auditorium, laboratories, seminar halls, computer labs, canteen, sports and recreation facilities. The campus also provides modern teaching facilities that includes Wi-Fi.

Eligibility criteria

  1. B. Ed- A candidate who has passed graduation with minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST)in any discipline is eligible to apply for the B.Ed programme.

  2. BBA- A candidate who has passed 10+2 with minimum 40% aggregate in any discipline is eligible to apply for the BBA Programme.

  3. BCA- A candidate who has passed 10+2/ Intermediate with minimum 40% aggregate with mathematics or commerce as one of the major subjects is eligible to apply for the BCA Programme

  4. MBA- A candidate who has passed graduation with a minimum of 45% aggregate in any discipline is eligible to apply for the MBA Programme.

  5. MA(Education)- A candidate who has passed in graduation in any discipline is eligible to apply for the MA(Education) Programme.

Important note about eligibility

Final year students waiting for results can also apply for all the above programmes. They will be admitted on Provisional basis into the University. Such candidates must submit their final mark- sheet by 1st October 2013. In case they fail to do so or they do not meet the minimum eligibility criteria after the declaration of their final results, their admission will be cancelled and full fee excluding admission fee will be refunded.

Domicile: Students belonging to the state of Tripura
Non-Domicile: Students from States other than Tripura.

    • Domicile: Rs. 22,500/-
    • Non- Domicile: Rs. 27,500/-

  2. BBA

    • Domicile: Rs. 15,000/-
    • Non- Domicile: Rs. 18,000/-

  3. BCA

    • Domicile: Rs. 15,000/-
    • Non- Domicile: Rs. 18,000/-

  4. MBA

    • Domicile: Rs. 45,000/-
    • Non- Domicile: Rs. 56,400/-

  5. MA(Education)

    • Domicile: Rs. 18,750/-
    • Non- Domicile: Rs. 25,000/-

Hostel fee

Hostel facility is available within the campus. The hostel charges are as below:

  • Hostel fee: Rs. 12,000/- per semester for 1st year. Fee for following years will be notified after completion of the first year.

  • Hostel Deposit: Rs. 10,000/- (one-time payment only)

  • Utility Expenses: Rs. 1,500/- per semester

  • Mess Charges: Will be calculated according to the facility taken by the students. The students will be consulted about this.

Important note about fee structure

The selected students are required to deposit Admission Fee of Rs. 10,000/- immediately after the admission is announced on the Interview day. The students except those rolling for B.Ed programme are also required to pay an amount of Rs. 10,000/- towards caution deposit which is refundable. The students of B.Ed programme need to pay Rs. 5000/- as caution deposit. All payments must be made through a demand draft in favour of "The ICFAI University, Tripura - Fee Collection A/c" payable at Agartala, Tripura.

Mode of selection

The selection process for all the programmes is the same. The candidates need to fill the application and then appear for an interview at the University campus at the specified date. The selected candidates for admission will be notified on the day of interview itself after the interview process is over. Along with the Academic distinction, due weightage will also be given to awards won by the candidate in various activities such as sports, debates, cultural events etc.

How to Apply

  • The candidates are required to obtain the Application form from the official website of the university. Click here to Get Application form for all the programmes.

  • Same form can be used to apply for all the different programmes. The candidates need to mention the course they are applying for in the form.

  • The candidates need to take a print out of the form and fill it duly. The Application form should be filled in Capital letters and the candidates must sign the form.

  • A photocopy of the filled application form should be retained for future reference.

  • The duly filled form should be sent by post or submitted in person to the following address along with relevant documents before the last date of submission.

B.Ed Programme

The B.Ed programme of the university has been deigned specially to train students as teachers to make them capable of face the challenges of the competitive environment. The programs included are practical that provides the students sound knowledge of both core and specialised areas. The program includes 4 Foundation courses, 5 Professional Knowledge courses and 6 Experiential Learning courses. The program duration is of two semesters (1 year). The students will have to go through the winter term internship programme after the 1st semester.

The 2 years B.B.A programme

The bachelor of Business administration (BBA) programme provides the students the deep knowledge of basics of management. It prepares students for pursuing different careers in management as well as carrying on with higher studies of management such as MBA. This program is spread over 6 semesters (2 years). The students need to complete total 30 courses including soft skills. In addition to this, there will be two summer projects at end of year 1 and year 2 and one internship programme in the 6th semester. The students will be exposed to electives (specialization) during the 5th semester.

The BCA Program of ICFAI University builds sound base in computer application and skills that enables the students pursue career in the field of computers. The program provides knowledge about the Information Technology too. With the sound base of computer skills the students can go for higher studies in the area or build career in the IT sector.
