How to earn few thousand dollars by selling your domain name

Domain Hosting and Registrars like GoDaddy, eNom, HostGator provide services to sell your domain name for a hefty price if your domain name is very popular in search engine displays. This article tells the hidden secrets for such domain name owners.

How to sell Domain Names through a Domain buying agent

Are you willing to sell your domain name then there may be prospective buyers who will submit a request to buy your domain name through the Domain Buy Service. On receiving the request any Domain Buy Agent is likely to contact you telling about the buyer's intention to buy your registered domain name. It is you and only you whose reply will let the agent know if at all you intend to consider such offers of the intending buyers or if you are least interested in selling your registered domain name. You can change your mind even on getting a very attractive offer.

If you are not interested in selling your domain name, the agents close the Domain Buy Service request and inform the intending buyers through their contacts like email explaining the real situation.

However, if you are interested in selling the domain name owned by you then the agents negotiate for the sale price in between you and the intended purchaser, complete the sale, and execute the deal.

How to Negotiate and fetch maximum through Sale of Domain Name?

Initially, the buyer sets offer price to buy a domain name and if you, as a seller, want more value for the domain name than the price offered by the domain buyer then the domain name sellers quote the buyer either to accept their offer or to increase their offer. Even if the increased price quoted by the buyer is not acceptable to the seller then domain name selling agents get in touch with the buyer that the rate demanded by the seller is a firm price and can not be negotiated further.

Through the above reconciliation process if the seller and the buyer reach mutually agreeable price and come to an agreement with each other then the seller has to send the latest details of domain name through domain auctioneers, like GoDaddy auctions, so that they can create seller's customer profile with all the verified contact information so as to use the account to complete the transaction as private facilitated sale of the domain name. Terms and conditions of the Domain Sale facilitator sites and domain registrars apply equally to both the parties to the transaction that is existing domain name owner and transferee purchaser.

However, if the seller and buyer do not reach an agreement then domain auctioneers, like GoDaddy auctions, close the request and notify the seller and the buyer via verified email contacts.

How to Complete the Sales Transaction?

The sellers can check the status of sale transaction through their account created by domain auctioneers and link in the seller's account is enabled by facilitator auctioneers after the buyer makes the payment and the same is visible in the Sold Section of domain auctioneers. The seller can then follow the link to contact the buyer to initiate the domain name transfer. After the smooth transfer of domain name without any conflict in the domain name, the seller normally receives the payment within 20 to 30 days from the date of the sales transaction. However, if the buyer informs such domain auction facilitators that the buyer did not receive the domain name, then payment is put on hold until the issue gets resolved.

Important Note: If the amount involved is $3,000 or more, then the transaction goes into an escrow account, and the seller gets a separate set of instructions to go ahead with the sales.

How to Close the Sales Transaction?

The transaction is considered fit to be closed once the domain name buyer receives the domain name and the seller receives the funds. Such domain auctioneers, e.g. GoDaddy auctions, inform the seller immediately after sale transaction is closed.

Benefits of self hosted customized domain names

You can have your own organizational email user accounts like username@example.com
    Better search engine optimization
.

Note: Author is in no way sales agent of any domain seller or domain auction facilitator and the name of GoDaddy Auctions has been used just to explain the process of private selling or buying of existing domain names which are not otherwise available on demand from the domain name registrars. Though every care has been taken to make the readers understand the concept, even then the readers should make their own assessment about the credibility of such facilitators and arrangers for smooth transfer of domain names sold through private facilitated selling.
