The Indian Institute of Management is going to conduct Common Admissions Test 2013(CAT 2013). The testing window will be open for the period of 20 days between October 16, 2013 and November 11, 2013. Eligibility for CAT 2013
The candidate has to hold a Bachelor's degree with at-least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. The minimum marks of 45% in case of candidates belongs to SC/ST/Persons with Disability categories.
Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed their degree requirements and are waiting for results can also apply. On selection the candidates needs to submit the certificate latest by June 30, 2014.
Candidate must maintain a valid and unique e-mail account and a phone number throughout the selection process.
Reservation of seats
As per the Government of India requirements 15% of seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST candidates, 27% of seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates belonging to non-creamy layer and 3% of seats are reserved for Persons with Disability.
Registration for CAT 2013
The candidates needs to pay registration fee of rupees 1600(General and NC-OBC candidates) and rupees 800(SC/ST/PWD/DA candidates). The details about the payment of registration fee will be available on CAT 2013 website, http://www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in from 5:00 p.m on Saturday August 3, 2013.
Candidates need to pay the registration fee only for once irrespective of number of institutions he/she is applying.
The name of the candidate should appear same as the name like in 12 th/Diploma/Degree certificate.
If the change of the name happens due to marriage or for any other reason, the photocopies of proof should be submitted at the time of test, interview and the time of joining the program.
Candidates can start registrations from August 5, 2013 onwards and the registrations window will close on September 26, 2013.
Test Centres for CAT 2013
CAT 2013 will be conducted in 40 test centers. The details about the test cities spread across the 40 test cities will be available on CAT -2013 official website, http://www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in from 5 :00 p.m on Saturday August3, 2013. IIMs reserve the right to change or cancel the test venue.
CAT 2013 Score and admission process
A candidate's CAT 2013 scorecard will be made available to the candidate, and for details, candidates can visit the official website of CAT 2013.
Each IIM will shortlists the candidates for second stage of selection, which is independent from one another. Admissions will be done based on the merits shown in written ability test, group discussions and personal interview. The performance shown in CAT 2013 is an important component in the admission process.
