The best places to travel and visit in India during Holidays

Are you planning to visit India or planning to visit tourist places in India? Then you are in the right page at the right time. Some of the best tourist places to visit in India is Kashmir, Shimla, Delhi, Kulu, Manali, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Mamallapuram, Kollam, Yercaud, Bangalore, Coorg, Mysore, Munnar, Kochi, Doodh Sagar, Goa, Lonavala, Khandala, Mumbai, Agra, Delhi, Patna, Kolkata, Guwahati and states like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. They are few among many in India and they are blessed with nature and scenic which you will enjoy if you are a nature lover and adventurous. Also, you will find and experience wildlife, recreation and religious places on the way.

If you would like to visit Kashmir and its nearby places, then you have the facility of different types of transport modes. By flight, by bus or cab or by train, if you wish to go by Air then there is an Airport in Sri Nagar where you can land and go to any place in Kashmir as you desired. You have to reach till Thawi of Jammu if you would like to travel by train, from there you will get a bus or cab to reach till Sri Nagar / Kashmir. There are many places in Kashmir to reach and visit to enjoy pleasant holidays as you like, you need a lot of time and patience for it.

The best beaches to see in India

Goa is world known tourist hub and this is the best time (December and January) to visit and stay in Goa and nearby places. Many worldwide tourists used to arrive in Goa during December and January month to celebrate Christmas and New Year together full of spirit. During this moment, almost all hotels and resorts in Goa would find fully booked in advance, thus if you are planning to visit Goa this time then book your cottage immediately.

There are many beaches in Goa, Baga beach is one of the well-known beaches in Goa. Mandovi beach, Anjuna beach, Benaulim beach, Arambol beach and Calangute beaches are the best places to visit in Goa. There are many religious places available in Goa and there are famous Fort also exists. Doodh Sagar waterfalls are a little far from Goa centre, you will get a cab facility or transport facility to visit Doodh Sagar waterfalls.

Few other states to visit in India

Assam state:
The best tourist places to see in the Assam state of India are many, and Assam is the eastern part of India. Kaziranga and Manas (world heritage) are the best tourist places in Assam state. One of the well-known rivers in Assam is called the Brahmaputra River, this place is suitable for travel to visit and enjoy holidays. You can find many Tea Gardens and Wildlife tourism over there. It has filled up with natural beauty, scenic, many rivers, full of religious places, national parks, zoology areas and other entertainment for tourists.

Manipur state:
The best tourist place to see in Manipur is a naturally covered place. Manipur's meaning is 'Jewel land', it is famous for arts, culture and sculpture. There is a floating island during the season in Manipur state. Lamjao National Park is one of the best places to spend your holidays in Manipur and enjoy vacation and amusement. Loktak lake is one more the best place to visit over there, Laktak is enriched with deer and nature's beauty scenic.

Meghalaya state:
The best tourist place to see in Meghalaya is also blessed with nature. Meghalaya means 'Abode of clouds', you will find many clouds over there while you are on the way to one another destination for tourists. You can enjoy many waterfalls in this state, they are the best tourist hotspot for visitors. Tourists can get some adventure over there like climbing mountains and climbing rocks, trekking and hiking, and water sports etc. Shillong is the capital of this state.

Cherrapunji, famous waterfalls in Meghalaya state:
You would have known about Cherrapunji, it is none another place than famous rain forever in the world. There are many excursion places in Meghalaya like Elephant falls, Weinia falls, Nohkalikai falls, Langshiang falls and sweet falls etc. They are the best tourist places in India to spend holidays naturally.

This article gives a brief tip about the various places of visit in India. A good effort by the author. There could have been a brief mention about the places like Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Lucknow from where a tourist can have a round of visit to the nearby places. The beaches of Chennai, Puri and Visakhapatnam are also worth seeing. In Assam, the famous Kamakhya mandir is famous place which attracts more tourists to this place. Lucknow is a historical city and places like Ayodhya, Varanasi and Allahabad can be covered in the spell of the visit.

A proper travel plan would help the visitor to cover all the places in and around the place of visit.

A good article for the foreign tourists. But the article is, in my opinion, not complete. The article has not indicated the tourist spots of Rajasthan and Kerala. These two states attract maximum tourists. Moreover, some details about Delhi, Agra, hill stations of Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Uttarakhand were expected. Forests of West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh are also missing. Expecting a sequel to this article!

Yes, I agree as you said but still there are many best travel places in India and those would have been missed even if I would have stated the places what you mentioned. Anyhow, thanks for your suggestion and this was written way back in 2013, will try to write and cover more places with this article continuation.

Though I agree that it is very difficult to cover all the major tourist attractions of India in one article but some of the major missing attractions in the article are many world heritage sites like Khajuraho Group of Monuments in Madhya Pradesh, Ajanta Caves and Ellora Caves in Maharashtra and Sun Temple at Konârk, Odisha etc. There are many wild life sanctuaries and national parks, forts of Rajasthan and religious place like Ajmer Sharif, Shirdi etc.

I think the author has squarely missed some of the good places in South, especially Hyderabad in his list of places that can be visited during summer. Please note that when compared to other places, the summer is little under control in Hyderabad and even children can bear the heat at the peak. There are some good places to visit and cherish. The best being the Salarjung Museum which has the wholesome collection of Hyderabad Nawabs and the things to watch with care are the statues with replicas of Kings and Queens on one stone and the automatic wall clock which has the joker in action. The prestigious Charminar is famous for its towering looks. The area is best known as Lad Bazar for glass bangles shopping. You can also enjoy the whole day of fun and frolic at the Ramoji Film city. There are good lakes like Osman Sagar, Gandipet , Shaamirpet lake and Hussain Sagar. In the evenings you can go to Golconda fort for the sound and light sequence and also visit Famous Birla Mandir overlooking Tank Bund. Visit the Lord Buddha statue in the middle of the Hussain sagar through boating. Have a pleasure trip to nearby Lumbini Park and NTR gardens. If you have the four wheeler handy, then drive down the Necklace Road circulating the Hussain Sagar and enjoy the wholesome beauty of Hyderabad. Also visit the PV Narasimha Rao memorial on the Necklace Road which also has the attraction of Yogibear Park. So one can spend very good time seeing so many places in Hyderabad and the list is incomplete.

The author has made a good attempt to introduce some important places for touring in our country. The article is more general in nature. The subject selected is a vast subject and covering the entire information in a small article is a very difficult task. But within the limitations, the author did a good job.
The author has given more importance to places for tourists but no emphasis has been given to pilgrim places. If those places are also considered the article will become a very big article. But the places of importance for tourists in all the states are also not covered, Only places in a few states only are considered.
The Ramakrishna Beach and other Beaches in Visakhapatnam are also worth seeing. Kerala is also one of the most beautiful states in India and many tourists from abroad will be liking to visit the state also. Chandighar is another place where beautiful gardens are there which will be pleasure to watch.

India has a tremendous potential for tourism. We have famous places, hill stations, beaches, famous temples, Heritage buildings, and many other attractions which makes a country a very good choice for visiting. Though we feel pride in going to foreign countries but there are so many places in our country that we need to go. Only thing is that our maintenance and cleanliness is not of good quality and that is why we as a nation are losing on the big foreign revenue that is generated by the crowd of outside tourists coming to India.

Some of the places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Manipur, Maharashtra, Kashmir and Assam are comparable with the places in Europe in natural beauty and if we develop and improve them then India will be the biggest tourist puller in the world.

Indian food and Indian hospitality is known worldwide and people from various countries dream of visiting India at least once in their lifetimes.
