Plot

Poor author feel sad as he was surrounded by rich schoolmates. He approaches his father called poor dad to learn to get rich. His poor dad is a esteem professor. Even though he gets huge salary he was not able to save fortune for his inherit. Knowing his weakness in financial knowledge, poor dad send his son to Mike's dad, the rich dad.

First lesson taught by rich dad is to improve financial intelligence rather than giving importance to school education. All the parents force their child to get good grades, get seat in good college and place in a good company. But they didn't taught about financial knowledge which is not taught in schools. His rich dad taught him 6 lessons to get rich. Some key points from his lessons are

1. Owning a house is a liability as it won't pay you back. People think it as an asset but it is not. For a house you owned you need to pay tax, pay interest to bank and maintenance charge. So people should understand the difference between assets and liabilities.
2. Need to gain knowledge on real life lessons like finance, investment, tax exemptions. These knowledge will save lots of money.
3. Importance of investing money in stocks, real estate ect
4. Advantages of running own ventures.

Read the book to learn all those lessons taught to Robert Kiyosaki by his rich dad.

Pros:

1. The best thing I liked about the book is differentiation between assets and liabilities. Everybody think owning property is an asset but Rober Kiyosaki listed it under liabilities.
2. Provided information about how tax works and some ways to save it.
3. Given some best place to invest money and validated with real time examples.
4. Simple chart for calculating cash flow, assets and liabilities.
5. Available in Indian regional languages Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Cons

1. Encouraged about entrepreneur but didn't mentioned the risk involved in it.
2. Some tips given in this book won't works for all.

Verdict

Everything in this book can't be applied in our real life. However there are some tips in this book which will really helpful in our real life. If your future is plan is to become entrepreneur this book will impress you. Though the English is simple and not immersed into complex financial terms everybody can read and understand this book. If you are comparing with other financial self-help books I can say it is the best book for starters.
