The information contained in this article is new to me. I am hearing about the 'Karnataka Sabarimala" or the "Ananthagiri Sri Siddhivinayaka Ayyappaswamy Temple,Anjanapura, Bengaluru" for the first time from this article.
Sabarimala is an unexplainable feeling of faith and worship in the minds of Ayyappa devotees especially from the four southern states of India. Sabarimala is attracting every year unprecedented crowds of worshippers now not only from these states but from all over India and abroad. Newspapers in Kerala give reports each year of foregn nationals also visisting Sabarimala as sincere worshippers following all traditional formalities.
So much so that wherever there is a group of a few Ayyappa devotees, they embark on building an Ayyappa temple, and would like to construct it similar to that of Sabaraimala temple. This gives them the feeling of homeliness as if they are in Sabarimala.
The temple in reference in this article "Ananthagiri Sri Siddhivinayaka Ayyappaswamy Temple" in Bengaluru also falls in this line. There is one Ayyappa temple in Mumbai, at Kanjur Marg which is known among Malayalis there as Mini Sabari Mala. It is located on a small hillock and 18 steps are constructed to lead to the temple. Malayali and other Ayyappa devotees near and around the place throng the temple especially during the Mandala pooja and Makaravilakku season.
However I would like to pint out one difference I found between the article and the narration in the temple website(karnatakashabarimale.com). The relevant narration in the website is and I QUOTE."....Karnataka Shabarimale , also known as ‘Sri Siddhivinayaka Ayyappa Swamy Temple', is situated in the hills of Ananthagiri; a peaceful place, which is very close to the Bannarghatta National Park and Anjanapura BDA Layout. The temple built in the year 2007, is in the traditional Kerala Architectural form and culture;...UNQUOTE
