How to get admission in IIT Roorkee

Introduction

Students can apply for master courses in Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee till 16th April 2015.Students will get admission on the basis of their valid score in GATE and entrance test/interview conducted by institution. According to its basic students can take admission in master's courses of technology, Architecture and Arban regional planning of Indian Institute of Technology.

Some facts about Roorkee University

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee was established as the first Engineering College of India in 1847 and in 1854 as Thomason College of Civil Engineering and in 1949 as the first Engineering University of India. Its 23 academic departments and centres offer many courses. There are 430 faculty of members engaged in teaching, 4450 undergraduate students, 2130 postgraduate students and 1500 researches students. The whole attention is given here on the full development of students in all fields.

Eligibility to get admisssion

All students who have attained their bachelor degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture or planning with 60% marks can apply for master degree courses in Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Students who are appearing in their final year examination can also apply for these courses if they are able to present their bachelor degree before the institution till 30 September 2015.

Application Procedure is very easy

Admission process will start from March 12,2015 to on or before April 09, 2015 for these courses. Students should go to the website – http://pgadm.iitr.ernet.in for their application form filling. They are required to register and fill their application form online. After filling the application form online, students should take out a print out of their filled application form, sign it and affix their recent and good quality photograph in the appropriate place. After doing it they should sent it to the Chairman, PG Admission office, IIT Roorkee along with challan form and their necessary documents. The last date of reaching duly filled admission form is on or before April 15, 2015.

Reservation of seats for different category

Indian institution of Technology offers reservation for different categories. It gets reservation 15% of seats for scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% reservation for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 27% reservation for Other Back Ward classes (OBC) and 3% for disabled persons.
