Indian Institute of Information Technology and Manufacturing (IIIT-DM) Kancheepuram is located in Melakkottaiyur Village-Kelambankam Road, Chennai. M.Des Programmes in IIIT Kanchepuram
M.Des Programmes is framed for the creation of communication, electronic and mechanical product. It is an innovative programme with domain specific design and manufacturing skills. It makes young graduate and professionals experts in Engineering Product Design.
Time duration : Two Year full time course
Courses offered for admission : M.Des Communication Systems, M.Des Electronics Systems, M.Des Mechanical Systems.
Seats : 30 for each programme
Fellowship : Rs. 8000/- for 2 years fellowship will be provided according to MHRD, Govt of India.
Reservation : ST/SC/OBC/PD candidates will get reservation according to the rules and regulations of Govt of India.
Eligibility Criteria : Students who will have a valid GATE (2014/2015) score (Category A) will be called for personal interview but who do not have a GATE score (Category B & C) will have to appear in test and interview.Ph.D Programme in IIIT Kancheepuram

For Ph.D in Electronics Engineering Program : Seeking admissions for Ph.D in Electronics Engineering program students should have master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Mathematics: Students should have master's degree in Mathematics/Statics/Physics/Computer Science with GATE/UGC/CSIR/NIBHM or M.Tech or any M.Tech degree.
Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering Programme: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engine Tech, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation, Maintenance Management, Metallurgical Engineering, Production/Malfacturing Engineering/Mechatronics/CAD/CAM/CIM and im related areas depending on the research topics.
