About the supplementary exam The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) conducted a re-examination (supplementary exam) in July in this year for those students who were unsuccessful in the March-April State Secondary Certificate (SSC) exams, the results of which were declared on 8th June.
Each year, the re-exam for failed students is generally conducted by the Board in October. The students who were unsuccessful in some subjects were provided the facility of Allowed To Keep Term (ATKT). They could secure admission to a junior college and then appear for the ATKT exam in October of the same year. However, this resulted in losing an academic year. Hence, this year the Board decided to conduct the exams within a month of the results. This would enable the students to commence their academic studies for Class XI in September this year itself.
Accordingly, the SSC re-examinations began on 21st July and ended today on August 5th. More than 1 lakh 38 thousand students appeared for the re-exam. In the Mumbai division alone, more than 32 thousand students out of the over 52 thousand unsuccessful students registered for the re-examination. As per the statistics of the students who registered for the re-exam, more than 18 thousand were from Pune Division, over 16 thousand from both Nagpur and Aurangabad divisions, more than 9 thousand from Kolhapur, over 12 thousand from Nashik and Latur divisions, more than 17 thousand from Amravati and about 1,350 from Konkan division.
The papers will be checked by examiners at specially set up assessment centres in the State, including 5 in the Mumbai region. This is to save the examiners time in taking the papers home & not getting sufficient time to correct during their daily schedule.
Results date The results of the SSC re-exam which was conducted in July-August was to be declared in the third week of August, but got delayed. The results were eventually declared on 25th August 2015. More details here: 2015 Maharashtra SSC re-exams results declared.
The results can be checked at the official website of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education: https://mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in/
What to do after results Once you pass the SSC re-examination, you are eligible to gain admission to Class XI in this academic year of 2015 itself, starting from September 1st.
However, if you are unsuccessful in the re-exam, do not despair. You have another chance. You can then re-appear for the SSC exam in March 2016. An alternate option for you if you are unsuccessful in the re-exam is to receive a certificate to permit enrolment for a skill development course of the Maharashtra State Government.
