AIPVT 2016 Notification: Admissions into B.V.Sc & A.H Courses, Exam date


VCI issued notification for All India Pre-Veterinary Test exam. Eligible candidates has to apply online only. For eligibility criteria, age, education qualification, exam pattern, total marks, admission procedure and for other details read this article. AIPVT 2016 exam date is 14/05/2016.

Veterinary Council of India conducts All India Pre-Veterinary Test every year for admissions into first year B.V.Sc and A.H courses (Degree level) in veterinary colleges throughout India. On-line applications are invites from eligible candidates for the academic session 2016-17. VCI fills 15% of seats in all veterinary colleges in India expect in Jammu and Kashmir. It also fills state quota seats in Rajasthan, Manipur and Haryana through AIPVT 2016 entrance exam. This year VCI plans to conduct AIPVT exam on 14/05/2016 from 2:00 Pm to 5:00 Pm throughout India.

Eligibility criteria for AIPVT 2016

  1. Nationality:Candidate must be the citizen of India
  2. Education qualification: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as subjects and English as core subject. General category students must have 50% of marks in total.
  3. Age: Minimum age 17 and Maximum age 25 years. Age relaxation for reserved category students are as per central government norms.

Admissions processes

Two separate merit list will be prepared, one for All India quota and other for states participating in AIPVT. Admissions into B.V.Sc and A.H are based on marks obtain in entrance test only.

Exam Pattern and total marks

This exam consists of 180 objective type questions (four options out of which one is correct.) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology as follows,
Physics-45
Chemistry-45
Biology (Botany and Zoology)-90.
Each question carries 3 marks. For every correct answer candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted. Questions are asked in English and Hindi. Total duration of the exam is three hours.

How to apply

All eligible candidates has to apply online only. No other means are accepted. One online application will be accepted, multiple applications will be rejected. Application fee of Rs. 1500/- for general and Rs. 750/- for reserved students has to be paid either online using credit or debit card or offline through E-challan. If you fail to pay fee in time, a late fee of Rs. 750/- will be added to application fee. No need to send any hard copy.
  1. Before applying make sure you have working E-Mail id and Phone number. These two should work till completion of the counselling because every communication between applicant and VCI will be done through phone or mail.
  2. Keep your 10+2 or board exam certificate in hand while filling online application because you have to fill your name, date of birth, parent names as mention in your board certificates.
  3. Keep the following scanned photos
    • Scanned passport size photo.
    • Scanned signature.
    • Candidate thumb impression and parent signature.
    • If you are resident of J&K scan self declaration form.

End of online application: 07/02/2016 (11:59 Pm).
Last date to pay application fee without penalty: 09/02/2016
Last date to pay fee with late fee: 03/03/2016.
Last date to apply online with late fee: 10/02/2016.

About Course

Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry is a bachelor degree course. The entire duration of B.V.Sc & A.H course is five years. In last year there is a compulsory six month internship. It mainly deals with curing and studying various diseases in animals and birds. After completing this course one can work as a veterinary doctor in government and private sector.
