About the school
Birla Balika Vidyapeeth (BBV) is an English medium school for girls established in the year 1941 at Pilani in the state of Rajasthan. Pilani is renowned for India's one of the best institutes, Birla Institute of Technology and Science. The town is famous for its quality education in its schools as well as colleges. A number of schools and colleges have been established by the Birla Education Trust in Pilani. Birla Balika Vidyapeeth is one among them. The school provides education with a modern outlook, but at the same retains the rich cultural heritage of our country. Dr (Mrs) M Kasturi is the Principal of the school. The school managing committee is headed by Major General SS Nair (Retd), Chairman of the Birla Education Trust. The school is affiliated with the CBSE. Incidentally, the area where the school is located is called Vidya Vihar, an educational locality. For its 800 students, the school has around 57 teachers. Almost all of them are female. The school provides education from classes IV to XII. From class XI onwards, students can opt for science, humanities or commerce.Admission procedure
For the academic year 2016-17, registrations are currently open for classes IV to IX and XI. For admission in class IV, parents should ensure that the age of the candidate should not be less than 8 years, as on 1st October 2016. The registration form can be downloaded from the website address www.bbvpilani.com. A registration fee of Rs 1200/- is to be deposited through demand draft drawn in favour of Principal Birla Balika Vidyapeeth. It includes Rs 200/- for the prospectus. The prospectus is to be procured from the school or from centres located in various cities. The registration form along with the necessary fees and documents is to be sent to the school.
After the registration of the student is over they will have to sit for a scholastic level assessment. For classes IV to IX the subjects of the test are English, Hindi, Maths and Mental Ability. For classes XI the subjects depend on the stream. Each test will last for 30 minutes. The tests are conducted at selected cities on different dates. The syllabus, sample papers, list of centres and the dates for the tests can be obtained from the school website. At the school too on every Monday, a scholastic assessment is conducted for new admissions. An interaction is arranged with the parents after the test.Documents to be sent for registration
Annual expenses
For the session 2016-17 the total annual expenses for the various classes are as follows. This is applicable for the new registrations.
Old students have to pay Rs 13,700/- less for the respective class. Personal expenses approximating Rs 40,000/ is included in the above fee structure. It also includes a sum of Rs 5500/- to Rs 8000/- depending upon the class for tours and treks. The entire annual fee is to be submitted in two instalments. The first instalment is paid at the time of admission. The second instalment is to be paid by 30 September 2016. Fees are to be paid by mode of bank challan from any of the ICICI branches in India or through demand draft. No cash or cheques are accepted by the school.Facilities for games and sports
The school has ample facilities and playing grounds for various kinds of sports. Students can opt for both indoor as well as outdoor games. Facilities are available for games like football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, hockey, lawn tennis, table tennis, skating and athletics. There is a gym hall and a swimming pool for budding swimmers. Horse riding is also taught in this school for those who are inclined towards riding. Students can opt for yoga and judo to keep themselves in the pink of health.

Pilani is almost 200 km away from both Delhi and Jaipur. There is no direct connectivity with rail. For travelling to Delhi one has to avail the rail services from Loharu, 26 km away. For train services to Jaipur, one has to travel to Chirawa, 16 km from Pilani. Bus services to both Delhi and Jaipur are quite good.Climate of Pilani
