How to register online for B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch JAC Delhi admissions 2016-2017

Want to register for Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi 2016? This article provides complete information on the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi 2016 registration process for admission to B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch programs at Delhi universities and institutes. You will also get details of the admission and annual fees of the courses at each institute.

The Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi 2016 is now open for registration for admission to B.E., B.Tech. and B.Arch. programs of the following universities and institutions established by the Government of NCT of Delhi:

  1. Delhi Technological University (DTU)

  2. Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)
  3. Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D)

  4. Netaji Subhas Institute of Tecnology (NSIT)

Candidates must fill in the single online application form on the official website to participate in the centrallized counselling under JAC Delhi 2016.

Eligibility requirements for JAC Delhi 2016

  1. You will get admission to the course that you wish to pursue based on the All India Rank you get prepared by CBSE with weightage being given of 40% to class XII (or equivalent other qualifying exam) marks and 60% to the performance in Paper – 1 of the JEE (Main) 2016 exam.

  2. For admission to B. Arch., Paper-2 of the JEE (Main) 2016 exam will be considered.

  3. For IIITD admission, there are bonus marks. You can refer for details on this to the Information Brochure.

The qualifying exam for admission is as follows:
  1. Senior School Certificate exam (12-year course) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi.

  2. Indian School Certificate exam (12-year course) of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

  3. Any other exam recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the C.B.S.E.

Note: If you have appeared at the annual exam in the year 2016 and have been placed in compartment, then you will not be eligible for admission for the year 2016.

Minimum Marks criteria in qualifying exam

  1. For B. E. / B. Tech. Course at DTU, IGDTUW and NSIT: You must have scored 60% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics & should have passed English as a subject of study at the Senior School Certificate exam (Core or Elective), provided you have passed in each subject separately.

  2. For B. Tech. Course at IIITD: You must have scored 80% or more marks in the aggregate of best of 5 subjects including Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 80% or more in Mathematics in qualifying exam.

  3. For B. Arch. Course at IGDTUW: You must have scored 50% or more marks in aggregate & have passed Mathematics as a subject in the Senior School Certificate Level exam. You should also have qualified for the JEE (Main) 2016 (Paper - 2) exam.

Note: Refer to the official website to know the concession in the minimum marks criterion provided for OBC (Non Creamy Layer), Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and sub-categories namely Defence, Differently-abled person, who apply for seats reserved for them.

Age criteria

  1. For admission to DTU, IGDTUW and IIITD: You must be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years of age on or before 1st October 2016. There is a relaxation in minimum age up to 1 year only with the approval of the Competent Authority (if you are eligible for relaxation in age, then you can apply for relaxation at the time of admission).

  2. For admission to NSIT: There is no minimum age requirement.

Admission and annual course fees

In addition to the list of fees mentioned below, you will need to pay the Hostel and Mess fee separately.
  1. At DTU:
    • Fees to be paid at the time of Admission: Rs. 75,000/-.

    • Total fee to be paid for 1st year: Rs. 1,26,000/-.

    • Balance fee to be paid at the time of registration for the 1st Semester: Rs. 51,000/-.

    • Fee for II Year : Rs. 1,38,000/- p.a.

    • Fee for III Year : Rs. 1,51,000/- p.a.

    • Fee for IV Year : Rs. 1,66,000/- p.a.

  2. At IGDTUW:
    • Fees to be paid at the time of Admission: Rs. 75,000/-.

    • Total fee to be paid for 1st year: (i) B. Tech.: Rs. 75,000/-; (ii) B. Arch.: Rs. 90,000/-.

    • Balance fee to be paid at the time of registration for the 1st Semester: (i) B. Tech. - nil; (ii) B. Arch. - Rs. 15,000/-.

  3. At IIIT-D:
    • Fees to be paid at the time of Admission: Rs. 75,000/-.

    • Total fee to be paid for 1st year: Rs. 2, 25,000/- p.a. Note that per Semester Rs. 1,12,500/- is to be paid & the remaining fee of Rs 1,12,500/- is to to be paid in the month of January 2017. Also, the fees will increase by 10% per annum.

    • Balance fee to be paid at the time of registration for the 1st Semester: Rs. 47,500/- for the 1st
      semester, which includes the refundable security deposit of Rs. 10,000 and the balance fee of Rs. 1,12,500/- to be paid in the month of January 2017).

  4. At NSIT:
    • Fees to be paid at the time of Admission: Rs. 75,000/-.

    • Total fee to be paid for 1st year: Rs. 1,25,000/-.

    • Balance fee to be paid at the time of registration for the 1st Semester: Rs. 50,000/-.

Counselling schedule

  1. Opening of online fee submission, registration & choice filling: after declaration of JEE Main 2016 Rank.

  2. Closing of Registration Fee submission:
    • Cash Payment at SBI Bank Branch using eChallan: 28 June 2016, 3p.m.

    • Online pPayment using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net-banking: 29 June 2016, 6p.m.

  3. Closing of online registration & choice filling: 29 June 2016, 8p.m.
