Chennai Indian Institute of Technology, also known as IIT Chennai invites applications from students in plus two level for their 5 year Integrated MA course. IIT Chennai is one of the prestigious universities of our country and so studying there itself will give you recognition in future. The course is conducted by the Department of Humanities and Social Science. The first 2 years of this integrated MA course will be based on curriculum and after the first 3 semesters, based on the academic record and students interest, they are given the chance to select either of the 2 streams mentioned below. If you are interested to join the course, here comes your chance. The admission will be granted to the students who qualify the HSEE 2017 exam, popularly known as Humanities and Social science Entrance Exam that will be held on April 16. Lets check the details.

Admission process

If you wish to get admission in Integrated MA course at IIT Chennai, then you need to qualify the HSEE 2017 exam that will be held on April 16(Sunday). The timing will be 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. English is used as the language of question paper. For the exam, there will be 2 parts like part 1(Objective multiple choice questions) and part 2(Essay). Part 1 will be a 2 1/2 duration exam which is computerized and consists of English comprehension skill, analytical and quantitative ability and general studies. Essay part will be of half n hour exam which you should write on answer sheet provided at the end of part 1. Those who have scored not less than 50% marks in the test will be included in the common rank list. Only 45% score is needed for OBC Non Creamy Layer while SC/ST/PwD candidates only 25% score is needed.

Those who have qualified the plus two exam in 2016 with at least 60% marks/ grade OR those who appear for plus two exam in the year 2017 are eligible to apply for HSEE 2017. Only 55% marks is required in the case of SC/ST/Pwd candidates.

Age limit

Candidates must be born on or after 1992 October 1. There will be a relaxation of 5 years in the case of SC/ST/Pwd candidates.

Exam fees

There will be an exam fee of Rs 2200 for HSEE 2017. But Rs 1100 is necessary in the case of female/SC/ST/PwD candidates. The exam fees can be submitted through net banking / credit/ debit card / Indian bank challan.
