UP PCS is an exam that is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission for recruitment of subordinate posts. In this year, 251 posts will be filled by UP PCS Exam with a pay scale of Rs.15600-39100 Grade Pay 5400

Important dates for applying UP PCS Exam

  • Online application starts on: 22 February 2017

  • Last date to apply for exam: 22 March 2017

  • Last date of submission of form: 27 March 2017

  • Commencement of pre-exam: 21 May 2017

  • Commencement of main exam: 9 September 2017

Eligibility criteria of UP PCS exam

Age limit

Minimum age required: 21 years (on 1st july 2017)
Maximum age: 40 years (on 1st july 2017)
However, relaxation will be provided to the reserved category candidates.

Academic eligibility

Candidate must have Bachelor degree from any recognized university. There are some posts (like Designated officer, statistical officer, senior lecturer DIET, Asstt. Director Industries) in which Master degree is required.

Exam Pattern of UP PCS exam

There will be three stages to qualify this exam:

Preliminary Exam

Two papers (General Studies I and General Studies II) will be conducted of 200 marks each.
First paper will contain 150 objective type questions and second paper will contain 100 objective type questions.

Main exam

Following papers will be conducted in main exam:
General Hindi: 150 marks
Essay: 150 marks
General Studies I: 200 marks
General Studies II: 200 marks

Personality test

Finally qualified candidates of main exam will be called for personality test. It will consist of 200 marks that will test candidate's general awareness, intelligence, character, expression power, personality, etc.

Application fee

General/OBC candidates: INR 125
SC/ST candidates: INR 65
PH candidates: INR 25
Payment can be done using debit card, credit card, net banking or SBI e-challan.

  • Candidates have to visit the official site of UP PCS 2017 i.e. uppsc.up.nic.in

  • Here, candidates need to look for the PCS Examination-2017.

  • There will be link to apply online and candidates need to click on that hyperlink.

  • Now, list of all exams will be shown to the candidates.

  • Here, just click on 'Apply Online' written in front of UP PCS Exam.

  • Now, candidates need to complete the application by filling all the personal details.

  • In the next step, candidate need to pay the exam fee, upload signature, passport photo and finally choose the exam centre.

  • After complete submission, candidates can take printout of the filled application form.
