It contains ten times more vitamin-A than that available in a lemon. It also contains vitamin B2, vitamin E, vitamin K, fibre, calcium, folate, iron, phosphorus and potassium. According to a book on healthy foods, that I own, an average sized fruit has more vitamin C, than an orange. A medium sized fruit has approximately 165mg of the vitamin, compared to just 75mg present in an orange. It is a rich source of potassium, as mentioned by the author. In fact, a guava can have as much as 256mg of potassium. The fibre present in guavas is mostly pectin, which is a soluble fibre, known for its ability to lower cholesterol levels. Pectin also aids digestion and guavas can therefore be a natural cure to chronic constipation.

Guava is also a good source of phosphorous, folate and carotene.
