Information to be submitted while applying

  1. The land: Other than general information, such as your name, address and contact details, you will need to mention the the size of the plot in sq. ft., ensuring that the minimum frontage required for the plot is 60 ft. The details of ownership of the plot, details of entities in which directors / partners / proprietor have a controlling interest need to be submitted.

  2. The business: Information on your current business, financial details of your company, mention of any disputes in terms of the law or Tax authorities, etc. will need to be furnished too.

  3. The finances: Financially, you need to indicate the investment required for the dealership, including fixed assets (such as land and equipment) and the working capital (vehicle inventory, receivables, spare parts). Additionally, give a brief overview of your assessment of the projected expenses of the dealership for the initial year of operations, such as marketing expenses, salary of staff, expenses on electricity and water, etc.

  4. The plan: You must be clear about the dealership plan of operation, including the organization structure, personnel to be employed and the proposed facilities which will be available.

What documents are required

  1. You must submit audited financial statements, even if the proposed dealership will be through a new entity to be formed. In case of a Proprietorship, you must submit your Accountant's certified financial statements. You need to indicate the income tax and wealth tax paid in the past three assessment years, with copies of the income tax and wealth tax returns for these three years enclosed with the application.

  2. Furnish a letter from your Banker(s) to indicate current facilities provided to you.

  3. Enclose clear photographs of the land, building and other infrastructure to provide a general idea of the site's layout as well as the surrounding area. A city map marking the locations of the facilities should also be enclosed.

  4. You should provide the land title deeds and existing lease agreements along with the application and also make these available for review at a later time when required.
