The Department of Computer Science in University of Kerala invites applications from eligible candidates for the AICTE approved M.Tech in Computer Science (with specialization in Digital Image Computing). This is a 4 semester program that runs under the credit and semester system. Eligibility for M.Tech Computer Science 2017 course in Kerala University

A candidate with Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Technology having 50% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed in any one of the branches like Information Technology / Computer Science and Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering from Kerala University or with an equivalent recognized degree from a well-recognized university are eligible to apply for this program. OR Candidates with at least 50% marks in Master's degree Computer Science / Computer Application or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever there is a grading system followed from the Kerala University or any equivalent recognized degree from a recognized University are eligible for this course. In the case of SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks are 45% only or an equivalent grade in point scale wherever a grading system is followed.

  • General: 10(there will be also reservations for OBC/BPL/Physically handicapped)

Documents to be submitted along with the completed application form

  • Attested copy of qualifying exam mark lists
  • Attested copy of NET/GATE score board
  • SC/St candidates must submit an attested copy of community certificate for reservation
  • OBC candidates must submit attested copy of community and income certificate
  • BPL candidates should submit attested copy of community certificate and BPL certificate
  • Physically handicapped candidates must submit attested copy of disability certificate from Medical Board of Government hospital
  • If you are trying for the sponsored category, then you need to submit experience certificate and sponsorship certificate from the employer in the prescribed format
  • Pay in slip of Rs. 500/- of University Cash Counter OR a crossed demand draft for Rs. 510/- issued by any District Co-operative Banks or SBIs that is drawn in favor of the Finance officer, Kerala University, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Remember to state the name of person for whom the remittance is made and the purpose of remittance on the back of the DD

How to submit the application?

The filled in application form along with a DD of Rs 510/- OR a university challan of Rs 500/- and the respective documents should be send to the following address on or before July 7, 2017.

Admission procedure

  • Non sponsored seats admission will be made on the basis of valid GATE/UGC-CSIR-NET score
  • For sponsored seats, the admission will be based on AICTE guidelines
  • Those with UGC-CSIR-NET qualifications will be given weightage.
  • When there are no GATE/NET qualified candidates, the admission will be given to Non-GATE candidates on merit. There will be an entrance test conducted by Kerala University for selecting such candidates. For the M.Tech Computer Science 2017 course, the entrance exam date is July 19.
