Overview

Bangalore University was established in July,1964. It is located in Garden city, Bangalore (now Bengaluru), the Silicon City in Karnataka State in India. Bangalore University is set amidst greenery in a sprawling 1200 acres of land and is named as Jnana Bharathi Campus. The University is one of the biggest universities in Asia and is one of the Best Universities for higher studies for students. It has completed 52 successful years of existence providing world-class quality education and an excellent foundation for students to develop a wholesome personality. The university was accredited by NAAC in 2001 and accredited with a grade A under the new grading system. It has received the status of five stars. Examinations are conducted twice a year by the university based on semester systems.

The University offers 120 undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate courses. It offers several skill-based add-on and vocational courses also. About 3.5 lakh students pursue their educational studies at the University. Spread around 600 acres of land is an amazing Bio-Park which houses a varied diversity of bio-lives. The University has a number of tie-ups with several renowned institutions in India and abroad.   1. University Visveswaraya Colleges of Engineering (UVCE)

  4. is one of the Best University in the country. It stands at 15th place in the National Ranking and occupies 4th place in South India Level.

  5. The University College of Physical Education
  6. The College offers programs ; Bachelor of Physical Education (B.PEd), Master of Physical Education (M.PEd) and Doctorate of Philosophy ( PhD) in sports. The college conducts various coaching classes in sports and physical education

Infrastructure

Separate hostel facilities are provided for both girls and boys at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels. Set amidst the green cover are the indoor and outdoor games facilities, Auditorium and the library with 31/2 lakh books and around 175 periodicals. The library subscribes about 7500 journals online.
