New Delhi Police Self-Defence Winter Camps 2017-2018


Looking for free self-defense training camps for girls in Delhi? The Special Police Unit for Women & Children (SPUWAC) has announced its fourth self-defense winter training camp for December and January. This article provides a detailed schedule, including the venues and times of the camps.

The Special Police Unit for Women & Children (SPUWAC) safeguards the rights of women and children in the capital city, New Delhi. One of its units is the self-defense training unit. This unit provides self-defense training to groups of women & adolescent girls in their home/vicinity for a group of 40-50 of any age group. If the group number is fewer, then they are invited to the SPUWAC office for a self-defense training program of ten days' duration. Camps are also organized across Delhi at various locations during summer and winter, details of which are notified in leading national dailies.

SPUWAC is now organizing the fourth self-defense winter camp in the months of December 2017 and January 2018. Participation in the camp is totally free of cost. The camps include self-defense training, street plays and gender sensitisation for boys.



Schedule of camps

  1. At: Universal Public School, A-1, Preet Vihar, New Delhi.
    • Self-defence training program for girls/women: 27th December 2017 to 11th January 2018 (except Sunday). Time: 9a.m. to 11a.m.

    • Street play: 29th December 2017 at 11.15a.m.

    • Gender Sensitisation for boys: 29th December 2017 at 11.30a.m.

    • Registration Dates: 4th December 2017 to 16th December 2017 (except Sunday), from 10a.m. to 4p.m.

  2. At: Desh Bandhu College, Delhi University, Kalkaji, New Delhi.
    • Self-defence training program for girls/women: 27th December 2017 to 11th January 2018 (except Sunday). Time: 9a.m. to 11a.m.

    • Street play: 30th December 2017 at 11.15a.m.
    • Gender Sensitisation for boys: 1st January 2018 at 11.30a.m.

    • Registration Dates: 4th December 2017 to 16th December 2017 (except Sunday), from 10a.m. to 4p.m.

  3. At: Dada Dev Mandir, Raj Nagar, Palam Village, New Delhi
    • Self-defence training program for girls/women: 27th December 2017 to 11th January 2018 (except Sunday). Time: 9a.m. to 11a.m.

    • Street play: 2nd January 2018 at 11.5a.m.

    • Gender Sensitisation for boys: 3rd January 2018 at 11.30a.m.

    • Registration Dates: 4th December 2017 to 16th December 2017 (except Sunday), from 10a.m. to 4p.m.

  4. At: D.A.V. Public School, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi
    • Self-defence training program for girls/women: 27th December 2017 to 11th January 2018 (except Sunday). Time: 9a.m. to 11a.m.

    • Street play: 4th January 2018 at 11.15a.m.

    • Gender Sensitisation for boys: 5th January 2018 at 11.30a.m.

    • Registration Dates: 4th December 2017 to 16th December 2017 (except Sunday), from 10a.m. to 4p.m.

  5. At: Hansraj College, Delhi University, North Campus, New Delhi
    • Self-defence training program for girls/women: 27th December 2017 to 11th January 2018 (except Sunday). Time: 9a.m. to 11a.m.
    • Street play: 6th January 2018 at 11.15a.m.

    • Gender Sensitisation for boys: 8th January 2018 at 11.30a.m.

    • Registration Dates: 4th December 2017 to 16th December 2017 (except Sunday), from 10a.m. to 4p.m.

  6. At: VIIth Bn. D.A.P., PTS, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi
    • Self-defence training program for girls/women: 27th December 2017 to 11th January 2018 (except Sunday). Time: 9a.m. to 11a.m.
    • Street play: 9th January 2018 at 11.15a.m.

    • Gender Sensitisation for boys: 10th January 2018 at 11.30a.m.

    • Registration Dates: 4th December 2017 to 16th December 2017 (except Sunday), from 10a.m. to 4p.m.
