How to apply for FIITJEE programs scholarships for poor students


Are you searching for scholarships for economically weaker students to prepare for IIT JEE exams? This article provides complete information about the scholarships for students from families with low income which are offered by FIITJEE for its program which trains students for IIT JEE. Details of the who can apply, the selection test and registration procedure have been provided.

FIITJEE's social initiative to help the economically deprived students enables students from the underprivileged sections who are aspiring to appear for JEE Advanced 2022 and 2020 which will enable them to study at IITs in India to avail of scholarships for FIITJEE programs.

Scholarship Features

Number of students who can avail of the scholarship: 40.

Students have to appear for a selection test for which there is no fee. The selected students will get 100% scholarship on FIITJEE programs and 100% waiver on hostel fee.

Eligibility requirements

  1. You should be student soon going to Class IX or XI, being an aspirant of JEE Advanced 2022 and 2020 respectively.
  2. You should be a student at a Government school or an EWS (Economically Weaker Section) student in a private school.
  3. Your income / your parental income should be less than Rs.10,000/- per month.
  4. Students studying in public/private schools can also apply, but their application will be considered on case to case basis & on the discretion of the management.


The waiver of the fee for a FIITJEE program as well as the waiver for the hostel fee will be decided on the basis of performance, subject to your score being above the minimum cut-off marks in the Selection Test. Subsequently, you may be called for an interview at your FIITJEE study centre.



About the Selection Test

Those who are currently studying in Class 8 and going to Class 9 will appear for these two papers:
  1. Paper 1 is of three hours' duration from 9 a.m. to 12.30noon with Objective Type Questions to check your level of preparedness (Aptitude Test, Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics).
  2. Paper 2 is of three hours' duration from 1:30 pm to 4:45 pm with Objective Type Questions to test your Goal-oriented Analytical Skills (Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics).


Those who are currently studying in Class 10 and going to Class 11 will appear for two papers:
  1. Paper 1 is of three hours' duration from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm with Objective Type Questions to gauge current level of preparedness (Aptitude Test, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics).
  2. Paper 2 is of three hours' duration from Paper 2 (3 hours) - Objective Type Questions to test Goal oriented Analytical Skills (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) : 1:30 pm - 4:45 pm with Objective Type Questions to test Goal oriented Analytical Skills (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics).


How to apply

You have to register for the selection test only through offline mode. You need to collect the application form from the nearest FIITJEE Centre. Registration is open at all the centres across India.

Ensure that you fill up the application form in its entirety, selecting your test centre, segment code & study centre. You also should submit the self-declaration form of parental income and two passport size colour photos.



After the test

Once you are selected, at the time of admission you must submit the following four documents –
  1. The mark sheet of the last class which you attended.
  2. The certificates of scholastic achievements, if any.
  3. Proof of residence, such as ration card/Aadhaar card/Passport/Election ID card of parents.
  4. Proof of income of your parents, which should be:
    • Salary Slip of last month (if employed in a private firm / Government / Semi Government organizations)
    • An affidavit or a self-declaration form in the prescribed format which is duly attested by any one of the following" the District Police Chief (City Chief in case of a Metro), the General Manager or somebody in the rank above of a Nationalized Bank, the District Income Tax Chief (City Chief in case of a Metro)/the Assistant Commissioner and above Rank.

  • Last date to register: 1st February 2018.
  • Selection test: 4th February 2018.

A good initiative for deserving students. All students would be of General merit only, no reservation quota is provided for these scholarships. In my view, students and parents should read the self-declaration about income (
http://f40.fiitjee.com/pdf/SelfDeclaration.pdf) carefully because, if found to be incorrect, then the entire scholarship goes and FIITJEE can even take legal action. The hostel fee waive-off is for accommodation only (not for food and transport) and based on marks from Paper 1 and Paper 2.
