Detoxification involves making lifestyle changes that comprise of healthy choices. The plan includes consuming healthy foods and drinks, exercising, meditating and indulging beauty regimes, with a sole purpose of rejuvenating the body and mind. A detox programme is designed to leave you revitalised and refreshed.

Our bodies accumulate a lot of toxins and they are the major cause for the many ailments that we suffer from, such as constant fatigue, weight gain, constipation, aches & pains, skin eruptions etc. Detoxification or detox helps in cleansing the body of these harmful substances. A detox can be carried out through a regulated diet plan and therapies that cleanse the mind and the body. The objective of a detox programme is to stimulate and sustain a healthy body and mind.

In recent times, detox programmes have been repackaged and marketed as amazing holistic approaches to healthy living. But, the fact of the matter is that detoxification has been around for centuries and has been practised in cultures across the globe. Even though the practices involved varied, the sole purpose of the detox remained the same.

There is no doubt that a systematic detoxification of the body is healthy. Studies on the most common detox methods have shown no damaging results. Individuals who follow detoxification rituals claim that they feel lighter, healthier and more energetic than they did before the programme.

A good detoxification can repair and renew sagging energy levels and have a beneficial effect on the way you feel and how you look.

What are toxins?

We do not realise it, but we are victims of toxins. We are exposed to a volley of external toxins, every second of our life. The air that we breathe is full of toxins. It is polluted with dust, vehicular exhaust, gases, smoke, chemicals fumes, construction dust and more. Internally, the body creates its own toxins, as a natural consequence of the metabolism that takes place.

If that's not bad enough, we make lifestyle choices that create havoc within our body. Our diet comprises of unhealthy foods - we consume too much of saturated fats and sugars and too less of healthy nutritious foods. Combine this with high-stress levels brought on by pressure at work and situations within the family and the result can be catastrophic. Our bodies can get on the verge of a toxic meltdown.

When the body receives more toxins than it can eliminate our physical and emotional health is compromised. We feel worn-out, lethargic and under the weather and are more at risk of contracting minor ailments.

Do I need to detox?

Cleansing the body of toxins is recommended for everyone. If what you eat can be described as healthy then you'll require a less intensive detox. Remember external factors must also be considered since they play a crucial part in pumping our bodies with toxins. However, if your diet comprises of unhealthy foods (processed, oily and sugary) you will definitely need a deep detox. If your intake of water is less than the recommended 2 litres, your body will in all probability be loaded with toxins. If you also smoke and drink, then know that your body is screaming for help.

Detoxification is one of the best approaches to kick-off a better way of living. Not just does a detox support your body, mind and spirit, but it creates a transition phase between your old and new lifestyle.

How to reduce the toxic load?

Detoxification is the answer to that. A good detox programme involves making significant changes in the diet and lifestyle. This helps decrease the ingestion of toxins and enhances their elimination. It doesn't cost much to detox and neither do you have to check into a special high-end facility that offers detox programmes. You can detoxify your body at home, without the help of trained professionals, who can charge you a bomb for their services.

A detox can significantly change the way you feel. It can enhance your physical appearance, lift up your spirits and augment your energy levels, in addition to stimulating inner peace, which is vital to good health. Detoxification cleanses the body of all the harmful substances that it has been storing and also has a way of causing the body to recover from the adverse effects of a poor diet, bad habits and high-stress levels.

Detoxification must be a natural approach

If properly done, detoxification can be an extremely healthy approach to cleanse your body of toxins. An all-inclusive detox regime can integrate health stimulating effects of an alkalising and hypoallergenic food plan with body and beauty treatments that promote all-round detoxification. Mind and body cleansing therapies are fundamental to a favourable detox process – they accentuate repair and rejuvenation not just on a bodily level, but on a psychological and inner level. The goal is to steadily persuade your body and mind to purge itself of the toxic waste, trading it with healthy and invigorating diets and thoughts.

Do you suffer from toxic overload? Are you ready to detoxify your body? Are you ready to destress and feel rejuvenated? Let's begin the process of finding out what toxic overload is and if you are a carrier of this toxicity.
