Parents or guardians required to keep in mind the below mentioned points before availing RTE.
  • They must seek admission for L.K.G. or Ist Standard as applicable
  • Order of preference of any 5 schools required to be mentioned names must be chosen from the list of schools designated by Government of Karnataka
  • those who are selected under this quota allowed free education up to 10th standard
  • Parents/Guardian bound to produce all the original documents for verification like Adhar Card etc.

What is 25% quota of Right to Education in Karnataka


In case a student is selected and admitted in the nearby schools which is earmarked with 25% quota of schools under Right to Education 2018 by the Government in such cases the candidates completely exempted from paying any admission or fees of any kind.

The 25% quota is applicable only to those students who seek admission where they come under the age of 6 years, this free education available to the child till it attains 14 years of age or completion of 8th standard whichever comes early.

What is Prathibha Karanji under Right to Education in Karnataka


Government of Karnataka has introduced a program called Prathibha Karanji which is an extended program for students of Primary Education who admitted under RTE Act.

This program helps the students in bringing out the hidden talents in terms of entertainment or education in turn helps in personality development, the program is a platform to gain and acquire hidden talents in a competitive spirit wherein a student can gain exhibiting capacity through extracurricular activities.

Prathibha Karanji program is meant for children who are studying in Class 1 to 4 and Class 5 to 7 classes where individual competitions will be conducted for Recitation, Recitation- Religious verses in Sanskrit and Arabic, Light Music, Fancy Dress, Drawing, Storytelling, Action song, clay modeling and Yogasanas whereas group competitions will be conducted for Folk Dance, Patriotic song, Kolata, Quiz etc.



Which are the documents to be submitted for RTE admission


Students who seek admission under Right to Education required to produce the below mentioned documents to all the schools they apply in order of preference.
  • Birth Certificate for age proof
  • Caste or Income Certificate issued from Social Welfare Department or Revenue Department
  • Voters Identity of parents for address proof
  • Children with special needs or HIV affected or any other type of infections disability certificate to be produced issued from Health Department
  • If child is an orphan death certificate of parents or affidavit issued from Women and Child Development Department

  • A candidate can submit upto a maximum of 5 nearby designated schools in order of preference
  • Voter's Identity or Adhar Cards of the parents may be taken as address proof
  • 3 years and 10 months is the minimum age for admissions whereas 4 years and 10 months as on 01.06.2018 for admission to Lower Kindergarten, whereas for 1st standard child should have attained the age of 5 years and 10 months but not more than 6 years and 10 months as on 01.06.2018
  • If the candidate birth certificate with date of birth mentioned in it then original birth certificate should be produced at the time of allotment of admission
