Introduction The Hindi movie 'October' is directed by shoojit Sircar and is a film depicting the subtle relationship between two people and their emotions as well as their soft feelings.
This film has brought out a fresh wave of cool air in the stagnant atmosphere of action and family dramas. Director Shoojit Sircar has done enough justice in presenting the sentiments of human mind across the full width and depth of their relationships.
Varun Dhawan (as Dan) and Banita Sandhu (as Shiuli) are in the main lead and have performed their roles beautifully. The script is written by Juhi Chaturvedi.
The Storyline Dan (Varun Dhawan) is a hotel management trainee in a five-star hotel of Delhi. There are some of his batchmates as management trainees in the same hotel. They are now his colleagues and are Shiuli (Banita Sandhu), Manjeet etc.
Manager of the Hotel Mr Asthana is not happy with the working of Dan. He is becoming angry with him many times and also scolds him. Anyway, life is going on for Dan as usual with such little incidences with his manager Mr Asthana.
One day during a late night party Shiuli meets an incident and goes into a coma. She is taken to hospital and is admitted there. Dan and others go to see her in the hospital and Dan is much taken aback by seeing her condition. He is deeply moved by such a condition of a colleague just due to an incident.
Later, during a friendly chit-chat, one of the Dan's colleague mentions that on that fateful day Shiuli had asked - "Where is Dan?"
Dan is a bit intrigued. He is not able to make out why Shiuli will ask about him. He is unable to decipher the reason behind it. More he thinks about it, more he is puzzled. He goes to the hospital and sits there. Gradually he starts visiting the hospital more and more and slowly and unknowingly starts spending most of his time there. This amusing compulsion affects him and his work. Due to certain personal and professional reasons Dan has to leave Delhi. So he leaves the city and goes to some place.
After some time he returns back and meanwhile Shiuli is cured and is back to her house. Up to this point in the film the audience is not able to make much what the director wants to present or convey but the story unfolds from here and a journey of beautiful human emotions is laid down in front of the audience like a making of a great painting by an artist from beginning to end.
The film moves with a slow speed but is very effective in its presentation of the sad moments and seriousness in the life. The subtle hidden love between the pair is depicted in the most natural but amazing way by the director of the film. The flow of film is mesmerizingly captivating and will stir the sentiments of the audience.
Conclusion The film is serious but very interesting and flows softly. A must see film for people having interest in human behaviour, sentiments and soft nature beneath most of us.
