Boeing-Air India AME free Apprenticeship program admissions 2018

Boeing and Air India Engineering Services Ltd. (AIESL) has launched a one year accelerated Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Apprenticeship Program in India. Classes for the program will be conducted at AIESL, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL), a subsidiary company of Air India Limited, is approved by the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).

Features of AME program

This is a full time program of 12 months' duration. The curriculum is based on select CAR 66 (CAR is the abbreviation of 'Civil Aviation Requirements') subject modules, namely 3, 5, 6, 7A, 8, 9A, 10, 11A, 15, 17A. These will be taught by Air India trainers who are highly qualified in the relevant technical fields.

So you will be learning about –
  1. Electrical Fundamentals.

  2. Digital Techniques Electronic Instrument Systems.

  3. Materials and Hardware.

  4. Maintenance Practices.

  5. Basic Aerodynamics.

  6. Human Factors.

  7. Aviation Legislation.

  8. Turbine Aeroplane Aerodynamics, Structures and Systems.

  9. Gas Turbine Engine.

  10. Propeller.

The classrooms are equipped with contemporary training aids. You will get hands-on experience on an operational Boeing aircraft.

Eligibility requirements

You should be studying in the last semester /On-job-training (OJT) of a 3-year course at any DGCA-approved AME college.
You should have passed out of the 3-year course from a DGCA-approved AME college (e.g. Institute Of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering - Gorakhpur

Additionally, you should pass the entrance exam for the AME Apprenticeship program in 2018.

Entrance test format

Round 1

  1. English Comprehension Test: This section has 18 questions of 16 minutes duration. Your English language skills will be tested, covering vocabulary, grammar and comprehension.

  2. Logical Ability: This section has 14 questions of 14 minutes duration. It tests how you interpret things objectively. It includes Deductive Reasoning (e.g. puzzles, logical word sequence, etc.) and Inductive Reasoning (eg. recognizing patterns in a series of numbers, recognizing analogical patterns, etc).

  3. Quantitative Ability: This section has 14 questions of 20 minutes duration. It includes: (i) Basic Numbers (such as decimals, fractions, etc.); (ii) Number Theory (which tests your knowledge of concepts related to arithmetic reasoning & basic algebra; and (iii) Applied Mathematics, which is testing your basic quantitative skills.

  4. Domain Test: This section has 40 questions of 6 minutes duration. This will test your technical knowledge imparted in the AME 3-year course.

Test centre locations: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Kochi, Hyderabad.

Round 2

  1. Personality Test: This Test will evaluate your habitual behaviors, cognitions and emotional patterns. 90 questions have to be answered within 20 minutes.

  2. Virtual Video Interview: The Test is aimed at assessing your competencies in a structured virtual interview. 10 questions will be asked, to be answered within 30 minutes.

Test centre locations: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore.
Note: Candidates are required to answer all questions.h Tere is no negative marking for any wrong answer.

How to apply

You need to register online at: https://www.myamcat.com/ame.

As soon as you successfully submit the application, you will get a confirmation email. You will subsequently get your admit card with the test centre details & timings. This admits card, along with a valid Government-issued photo ID proof is required to be produced at the test centre for Round 1 of the test. You will receive an email intimation informing you whether you have been shortlisted for Round 2 or have been rejected.

If you have been shortlisted for Round 2, then you will get the admit card. Take this second admit card along with a valid Government-issued photo ID proof to the test centre. You will receive an email intimation of the final status, namely whether or not you have been selected for the program.

Important dates

  • Registration closing date: 3rd May 2018.

  • Entrance exam dates: Round 1: 12th May 2018; those who clear the first round will appear for Round 2 on 26th May 2018.

  • Classes begin in August 2018.
