2018 Admissions at SASTRA University
The admissions at SASTRA University are purely based on merit only. For admissions into UG and PG degree programmes, the University considers the scores of the students in the qualifying examinations of the UG and PG degree programmes.
Admission Procedure for B.Tech and M.Tech(5-year integrated) programmes
As mentioned above, the admissions for B.Tech and 5-year integrated M.Tech programmes will be conducted under 2 streams. Candidates who are eligible for both stream 1 and stream 2 need not submit 2 application forms separately. One application form will be considered for both the streams. Candidates can attend the counseling of both the streams using the same application.
Under stream 1, 70 % of total seats will be admitted based on the combined score of the candidate in JEE (main) and the normalized +2 aggregate marks in the ratio of 25% and 75%. The combined score is calculated to determine the SASTRA rank of a particular candidate because admissions at SASTRA University are purely based on the SASTRA rank.
Under stream 2, 30% of the total seats will be filled based on the normalized aggregate +2 marks or any other equivalent marks of the candidates. To bring the candidates from different examining authorities or education boards into the same scale of comparison, the University normalizes the aggregate + 2 marks of all the candidates. The merit list for stream 2 will be prepared based on the normalized score of an individual and the admission under stream 2 will be conducted based on merit list.
Note: Applicants who have applied for both the streams are allowed attend counseling for both stream 1 and stream 2. Also, even if they are admitted in any one stream they have the option to change the branch while attending the counseling under another stream.
