Maharashtra CET-2018-2019 for LLB 3 year course admissions


Are you seeking to get admission to the 3-year LLB course in a college or university in Maharashtra? For this, you need to appear for the Common Entrance Test 2018-2019 which is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. Details of the eligibility criteria, application fee and procedure have been provided in this article.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has announced the schedule for admission to the first year of the three years' full-time regular degree course in Law for the academic year 2018-2019.

Those seeking admission to the course at Government, Govt.-aided, Govt.-aided minority, University-managed, University Departments and unaided minority institutions in Maharashtra have to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) scheduled for17th June 2018.

Eligibility requirements

Academic qualification

You should be a Graduate or Post Graduate in any Faculty/Discipline of any University in Maharashtra or an equivalent National Institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or a Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University.

You should have scored a minimum of 45% Marks in aggregate (for all the parts of the Degree exam taken together). This is the criteria for Open Category candidates. For SC and ST
Category belonging to State of Maharashtra only, it is minimum 40% Marks in aggregate.

Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam of 2018-2019 should produce the provisional/Degree Certificate of the qualifying exam and mark sheets of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

Note: Those who are from outside Maharashtra Universities will be considered as Open
Category candidates irrespective of their Caste/Category and the criteria applicable to open
category candidates will be applicable to them. Candidates, including NRIs, are advised to read the official notification to know the candidature types before applying.

Age criteria

Upper age limit is 30 years for open category Candidates and 35 years for SC and ST category candidates from the State of Maharashtra only as on 1st July 2018. As yet, however, the upper age limit for admission to LL.B 3 Yrs.CET Examination for the Academic Year 2018-2019 has not been finalized due to a court case in the Hon. High Court.

Important dates

  1. Online registration and application: 16th April 2018 to 16th May 2018.

  2. Issue of CET Hall Ticket online: 1st June 2018 onwards.

  3. Online MAH-LL.B-3 Yrs. CET 2018: 17th June 2018 (Sunday).

  4. Declaration of the CET Result: 28th June 2018.

Application fee

Candidates have to pay processing fees for the application. The non-refundable fee payment can be done online only through Credit Card/Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets. A service charge will be applicable for this payment, in addition to the processing fee for applying.

The application processing fee is -
  1. For General Category Candidates from Maharashtra, candidates belonging to Outside Maharashtra State (OMS/All India Candidature) and J & K Migrant Candidates: Rs. 800/- .

  2. For Reserved Category Candidates of Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC] Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only: Rs. 400/-.

How to apply

Read the instructions provided in the CET Information brochure which can be downloaded from: http://www.dhepune.gov.in/ and http://www.mahacet.org/cetcell/.

Register at the website and fill in the application form online. Keep both, a soft copy and a hard copy of the CET application form, CET fee receipt and CET hall ticket (with your photo pasted on it) and duly signed by the Invigilator at time of CET. All these will be required for admission to the LL.B-3Yrs.– 2018 course.

At the time of registration, documents will not be required. These will need to be produced for the Document verification stage during Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in the college to which admission is sought.
