MAH-CET 2018 for B.Ed. Regular and Special Education Degree courses admissions

Are you looking for B.Ed. (Regular) and B.Ed. (Special Education) Degree course admissions in Maharashtra? This article provides information about getting admission through MAH-B.Ed. -CET 2018 to B.Ed. (Regular) and B.Ed. (Special Education) Degree courses in NCTE/RCI-approved institutions in Maharashtra. Details of the eligibility criteria and online application process have been provided.

The schedule of the Common Entrance Test (CET) to get admission to institutes in Maharashtra for the first year of the 2-year fulltime regular course in Education leading to B.Ed. (Regular) and B.Ed. (Special Education) Degree for the Academic Year 2018-19 has been announced. The CET is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. These degree courses are conducted in institutions which are recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)/Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Registration for MAH-B.Ed. -CET 2018 (Regular & Special Education) should be done online only latest by 9th May 2018.

Eligibility requirements

Only Indian citizens can apply. With regard to age criteria, there is no upper age limit for admission to the MAH-B.Ed. CET Examination. The age will be calculated as on 1st July 2018.

Academic qualifications: You should have passed Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree with subjects studied as Special/Optional level-Sciences and one of these: Mathematics/Social Sciences/Humanity Sciences/Commerce, securing a minimum of 50% marks (45% for Backward Class categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra). [Note: check brochure to see list of acceptable subjects for Social Sciences and Humanity Sciences].

Other acceptable qualifications have also been listed in the brochure, such as engineering & technology graduate/postgraduate qualifications, a recognized graduate degree from an Open University, etc. Candidates should hence check the official brochure for alternative acceptable qualifications.

Application fee

You need to pay the non-refundable processing fee for the application online by Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets. Service charges for this will be applicable.

The application fee is as follows -
  1. For General category candidates from Maharashtra: Rs.800/-.

  2. For all candidates belonging to States outside Maharashtra (OMS/All India Candidates): Rs.800/-.

  3. For J & K migrant candidates: Rs.800/-.

  4. For Reserved category candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only: Rs.400/-.

How to apply

Download and read the CET Information brochure from the official websites: http://www.dhepune.gov.in/ and http://www.mahacet.org/cetcell/.

Register online with a valid email ID and fill up the online application form. Original documents will be required for document verification only at the time of Admission, during the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in the college where you are seeking admission for the degree course.

You need to keep a soft copy as well as a hard copy of the application form, the fee receipt and the hall ticket (with your photo) and duly signed by the Invigilator at time of CET as these will be required for Admission to the B.Ed.– 2018 course.

Make very sure about your test centre. Once you select a centre from the options given, you cannot change it later.

Note: Candidates from Outside Maharashtra State belonging to any category should apply in the Open Category only.

About the Test

The MAH-B.Ed. -CET 2018 will only be conducted via online mode. If you wish to get admission in an English Medium College of Education, then you need to opt for English Language Content Test (ELCT) while filling in the online application form to be eligible for admission to that college. Weak in English? Learn basic English.

If you wish to get admission in a Special Education College catering to the needs of the Special Children, then accordingly you should select the relevant option while applying.

Important dates

  1. Online Registration: 9th April 2018 to 9th May 2018.

  2. Issue of CET Hall Ticket online via log-in: 24th May 2018 onwards.

  3. Date of the Online MAH-B.Ed.. CET & B.Ed. ELCT- 2018: 9th June 2018 (Saturday) & 10th June 2018 (Sunday).

  4. Declaration of the CET Result: 15th June 2018.
