About JIM

St.Joseph's Institute of Management (JIM) is a B-school established in the year 2007 and is affiliated to Bharathidasan University. It is a co-educational, AICTE-approved institution which offers full-time MBA, full time and part time Ph.D. and other research programs. JIM is a Jesuit Institute managed under St.Joseph's College Society and is also a part of St. Joseph's college.

JIM is ranked 1st among the promising B-Schools in India by Competition Success Review (CSR) and is also ranked at 7th position in Tamil Nadu by NIRF, 2017. At all India level, JIM is ranked in the band of 51-75 by MHRD, NIRF.

2018-2020 MBA admissions at JIM

Admissions for two years full-time MBA program are open at JIM. Interested candidates can follow the eligibility criteria and admission process as mentioned below to get selected for 2018 MBA admissions at JIM.

Who can apply?

Only candidates who satisfy the following eligibility criteria of JIM are eligible to apply for Master of Business Administration program 2018-2020.

  • Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.

  • Candidates who have completed their final semester and waiting for their final exam results can also apply for MBA program with their 5th or 7th-semester results.

  • Candidates must have taken any one of the common entrance tests such as CAT/XAT/ TANCET/CMAT.

How to apply?

Candidates who are interested to apply for 2018 MBA program in JIM must submit the online application form by paying the application fee of Rs.1000/- via the admission portal of JIM (http://www.jim.ac.in/admission-2018-2020/).

Once the online application form is filled and submitted successfully, the applicant must take a printout of the completed form and should send the form along with the following documents via post to: The JIM Admissions Office, St. Joseph's Institute of Management (JIM), St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli 620 002, Tamil Nadu, India.

  1. 2 recent passport size photographs (affix it in the printed application form)

  2. Hall ticket and score card of CAT/XAT/ TANCET/CMAT.

  3. High school and Higher secondary mark sheets

  4. Consolidated mark sheet/ Individual semester mark statements of UG degree

  5. UG Degree certificate/ Provisional certificate

  6. Students who are waiting for final semester results must submit their mark statements up to V or VII semester

  7. Transfer and conduct certificate

  8. Community certificate

  9. Work Experience certificate (if any)

  10. Photocopy Acknowledgement of the admission processing fee

  11. Attestation letter from the Parish priest (only for catholic applicants)

  12. Residential permit issued by the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (only for NRI candidates)

Note: Do not send the original documents. Only self-attested photocopies of the documents must be submitted.

General Instructions to be followed while filling the online application

Applicants who fill the MBA online application form of JIM must follow the below-mentioned general instructions while filling the application form. Application with misinformation or any irrelevant data will be rejected without any prior notification

  1. Authenticated details as per the official records must be filled in the mandatory (*) fields of the application form. Irrelevant details present in the form will lead to the rejection of the application.

  2. Use only Google Chrome web browser for filling the online application

  3. Application form will be captured in canvas mode. So, do not modify the screen resolution.

  4. Do not press reload or back button of the browser during the application filing and the transaction process.

  5. Do not refresh the page once the application form is filled and submitted. Wait till the filled application form is exported at PDF document.

  6. A candidate shall submit only one application. Application processing fee will not be refunded if the candidate submits more than one application.

  7. During online payment of the application fee, a candidate must pay the banking charges or any other service charges of the bank.

  8. Application fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection process

Once the filled-in application forms are submitted to the admission office of the institute, the selection committee of JIM will shortlist the eligible candidates based on the UG marks. All the shortlisted candidates will be called for JIM selection process through a call letter via email.

The shortlisted candidates must go through the selection process which involves a Written Test (WT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

The final selection will be purely based on the scores and performance of a candidate in JIM selection process, common entrance test (CAT/XAT/ TANCET/CMAT), academic record and relevant work experience.

The final list of provisionally selected students for MBA programme will be published on the official website of JIM.

The selected students must pay the course fees on the dates intimated by the college. To avoid cancellation of the admission, the admitted students must clear the standing arrears (if any) on or before 31 July 2018.

Last date for applying online: 30 May 2018
Last date for submitting the filled in applications through post: On or before 31 May 2018
JIM selection process (WT-GD-PI): 3 June 2018
Publication of final list of provisionally selected candidates: 5 June 2018
Payment of fees and admissions: 8 and 9 June 2018
Orientation and Bridge course begins: 11 June 2018
