Govt. of India Craft Instructor Training Courses admissions entrance test 2018


Are you looking for the exam schedule for the DGT entrance test for government craft instructor training courses in India? This test is to gain admission to government and private institutes in India for craft instructor training courses.

Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India has scheduled an entrance test on 30th June 2018 for Craft Instructor Training Courses to be conducted from August 2018 at various government institutes. Accordingly, candidates can apply online from 10th May 2018 for registration for the entrance exam. Admissions in private Institute of Training of Trainers (ITOTs) will also be made through this entrance test only. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Servicemen as per Central Government rules.

The first semester for all the courses is from August 2018 to January 2019, for which applications begin on 10th May 2018 and end on 30th May 2018. The second semester will begin in February 2019 and will be up to July 2019.

About the courses & training centres

The training centers which offer the courses aim to upgrade people with the requisite skills of a trade to enable them to become better instructors in the industry as well as at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI).

Other than basic trades like those of a carpenter, draughtsman, mechanic, welder, plumber, electrician, etc there are courses through which you can acquire skills for instructors for an architectural assistantship or a Desk Top Publishing operator. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Craft Instructor Training Certificate by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) and which is recognized by the Government of India.



Course fees

The semester fees at Central Govt. Institutes are as follows -
  1. For General category candidates: Rs. 1400/- .

  2. For SC/ST category candidates: Rs. 600/-.

  3. Hostel rent: Rs. 700/-. This includes the fee for admission, use of the gymkhana, tuition fee, exam fee, caution money, etc. Note that this may be revised.

At private institutes, the semester fee will be as per their decision.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Age: There is no upper age limit.

  2. Qualification: You must have a recognized (National Trade Certificate, that is, NTC / NAC (NCVT certificate in relevant trade) or a Diploma / Degree from a recognized Board of Technical Education/University or its equivalent.

If you are currently doing training under Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and will be appearing in the final semester of the All India Trade Test (AITT) during July 2018, then your application may be considered for appearing in the AICET but your final admission in a CITS course will be permitted only on successful completion of your training under CTS. If you fail in the CTS final exam, then you will not be allowed to continue the CITS course & the fee deposited will also not be refunded.

Similarly, if you are going to appear in the final semester of the Degree/ Diploma course during July 2018, then your application will be considered for appearing in the AICET but the final admission in CITS courses will be subjected to successful completion of your Degree/ Diploma. If you fail in the Degree/ Diploma final exam, then you will not be allowed to continue the CITS courses and the fee deposited will also not be returned.

Exam fee

The entrance exam fee is as follow –
  1. For SC / ST, PH candidates: Rs.200/-.

  2. For women candidates: Rs.200/-.

  3. For General and all other candidates: Rs.400/-.

The entrance exam fee should be paid via Net Banking or through use of a Credit Card/Debit Card.

How to apply

Submit your application online at http://www.nimionlineadmission.in/ from 10th May 2018 onward.

You have to give the name of 5 institutes in order of preference as your choice for admission to that institute. Details also available at http://citsadmission.atichennai.org.in/.

Before you begin your online application, ensure that you have the following documents ready for uploading:
  1. Details of your Credit card/ Debit card / Bank details.

  2. A scanned photo and a scanned signature.

  3. A scanned copy of the community certificate (this is applicable only for OBC/SC/ST candidates).

  4. A scanned copy of the 8th Std or SSLC (Std.10) mark sheet.

  5. A scanned copy of the NTC or NAC or Diploma or Degree Certificate (Note: In case you have not received the NTC / NAC certificate, you can upload your mark sheet).

  6. A scanned copy of PH certificate / Ex-servicemen.
