The University of Mumbai launched the Bachelor of Mass Media course in the academic year 2000-2001. Eligibility for a B.M.M. course

For admission to a B.M.M. course in a college in Mumbai you need to pass the Qualifying Exam (QE), which is the Class 12th exam of the Maharashtra Board of higher Secondary Education or its equivalent. The streams can be any - Science, Arts or Commerce. Note that admission to Mumbai colleges requires first B.M.M. course and selection of the college & course through the common admission test. There are 60 seats per batch for the course in each college.

For three years, the Department of Mass Media of Kishinchand Chellaram College
(known as K.C. College) has been ranked in the top 10 colleges for Mass Communication in the country by India Today, a reputed national magazine. The course was first started in the academic session of 2000-2001. As per the syllabus, students get exposure to a little of each of varied disciplines.
