The Table

I like the simplicity of the name, I love the drool-worthy desserts they serve, prepared to perfection and I love their unique concept of 'dessert in a jar'. How cool is that! Well, that was exactly my reaction when I first discovered 'The Table'. And it is for this that they get my vote.

They have a variety of desserts on offer, served in a jar. They also do cakes. Their products are a feast for the eyes and the belly. I ordered a jar of red velvet cake layered with rich cream cheese and the taste was spot on. The only other time I enjoyed the same was at the ROBOT - Restaurant in Chennai. If you like chocolate as much as I do, then I'd suggest the 'Choco Lot', it's simply heavenly; a jar of overindulgence of chocolate, in a yummy way. You get a chocolate brownie, chocolate truffle, chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache in a jar.

You have a choice of a wide range of jars of desserts with exotic flavours. Also, on offer are shakes, with the organic whey protein alternatives upping the healthy quotient.

Their cakes are nice too, different from the staid cakes available at most patisseries.

You can order your dessert jars, shakes and cakes on The Table website between 11:00hrs – 23:00hrs.
The Table has outlets in -
  • Maduravoyal
  • Anna Nagar (2 locations)
  • Adyar

Cozee Boxout

This is a place to call when you get hungry in the middle of the night and stare into an empty fridge. Cozee Boxout delivers food from 17:00hrs-05:00hrs, which technically is through the night.

There are two outlets, one in Perungudi and the other in Thiruvanmiyur.

They have a decent menu and serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. They have standard Indian and Chinese dishes on their menu, the kind of dishes that you find in every restaurant. And this adds to the familiarity quotient, allowing you to remain in your comfort zone. For who wants to decide what to choose from an alien menu, in the middle of the night.

You can order paneer tikka and reshmi kebab for starters or jump to the mains and go for butter naan and butter chicken or how about some sweet corn soup along with dragon chicken and Schezwan noodles. The point I am making is, that the menu is hassle-free.

Their Kathi rolls are quite popular. And while you are it, you can order desserts and soft drinks along with your food. The place is a blessing, for where else can you have hot, fresh food delivered, at an unearthly hour.
