Online registrations for MAHA-CET for MCA courses admissions 2018-2019


Want to get admission to a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course in Maharashtra? To do so, you first need to register for the Centralized Admission Process of MAHACET. This article provides details of the eligibility requirements for the course and how to register online.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has announced the admission notice for online registration and application for the Centralized Admission Process for 2018-19 admissions to the First year/Direct Second Year (Separate Division and Lateral Entry) in Master of Computer Applications (MCA) in Government, Government-aided, University manage institutes, University managed Departments and unaided private professional educational institutions in the State of Maharashtra.

Eligibility requirements

You must be an Indian national and fulfil the following academic qualification criteria:
  1. You should have passed Bachelor's Degree (minimum 3 year course) awarded by a University which is recognised by UGC or the Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (45% in the case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State).

  2. You should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at the 10+2 level or at the Graduate level examination.

  3. For Direct second year admissions, you should have passed Bachelor Degree in Computer Applications or Science (Information Technology or Computer Science).

  4. You should have obtained Non Zero Positive Score in CET.

Other than the last-mentioned criteria above, the same is applicable for NRI / OCI/ PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries (CIWGC) & Foreign Nationals.



Fee payment

Candidates who register for MAHA-MCA-CET-2018 are not required to pay any fees for registration for admission. However, other candidates who belong to the categories mentioned below need to pay the requisite fees via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking etc through online mode only. This fee once paid is not refundable.
  1. For CIWGC candidates: Rs.1,000/-.

  2. NRI/OCI/PIO/FN candidates: Rs.5,000/-.

Important dates

  1. Online registration of application & uploading of documents for Maharashtra State/All India/J & K Migrant candidates & NRI/OCI/PIO/CIWGC/FN candidates: 25th June 2018 to 12th July 2018.

  2. Document verification and confirmation of application form for admission: 25th June 2018 to 12th July 2018, up to 5p.m.

    Note: Maharashtra State/All India candidates can do this at the designated facilitation centres (the list is available at the official website) along with the print out of online filled and submitted application form and the copy of uploaded documents. Other candidates should send the print out of the online form, filled in properly, and copy of uploaded documents by hand/speed post/courier for verification and confirmation to: "Director, Sydenham Institute of Management Studies & Research & Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE), B-Road, Churchgate, Mumbai-400020".




  3. Last date for acceptance of caste/tribe validity, non-creamy layer receipt at FC: 12th July 2018, up to 5p.m.

  4. Display of provisional merit list at the website for Maharashtra State/All India/J & K Migrant candidates: 13th July 2018.

  5. Submission of grievance, if any, for all candidates at FC: 14th July 2018 to 16th July 2018 up to 5p.m. During this time, candidates can also submit documents/certificates for verification.

  6. Last date for submission of caste/tribe validity, non-creamy layer Certificate at FC: 16th July 2018 up to 5p.m.

  7. Display of the final merit lists at the website of Maharashtra State/All India/J & K Migrant candidates: 17th July 2018.
