2018 IBPS Probationary Officers, Management Trainees bank recruitment exam online applications


Are you searching for the IBPS notification for the bank recruitment exam for Probationary Officer/Management Trainee vacancies? The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has announced the notification for the online Preliminary and Main exams to be held tentatively in October or November this year for the Common Recruitment Process (CRPPO/MT-VIII) for selection of eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee or in a similar post in that cadre in the participating organisations. Candidates shortlisted from those who qualify for the online preliminary exam will have to appear for the main exam. Subsequently, those shortlisted through the main exam will be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the participating organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank.

The participating banks for this exam are: Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Syndicate Bank, Andhra Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of Baroda, Corporation Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Dena Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, IDBI Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Vijaya Bank.

Eligibility requirements

  1. Nationality: You must be a citizen of India. Subjects of Nepal and Bhutan can also apply. Other eligible applicants: a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Those who are not citizens of India must produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
  2. Age criteria: As on 1st August, the minimum acceptable age is 20 years and the maximum is 30 years. That is, you should have been born not earlier than 2nd August 2018 and not later than 1st August 2018 (both dates inclusive). Refer to the official notification to know the upper age limit relaxation for the specific categories of candidates.
  3. Educational qualifications: You must have a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. You should have a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate to indicate that you are a graduate on the day you register and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online. Note that a proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before 4th September 2018 has to be submitted at the time of interview.




About the recruitment exam

Online exam format

The Preliminary exam is of one-hour duration. The total is 100 marks, with three sections of 20 minutes each, namely English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

The Main exam ha a duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes with four tests, of 200 marks total. The tests are Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (60 minutes); General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness (35 minutes); English Language (40 minutes) and Data Analysis & Interpretation (45 minutes).

Documents required

There will be a verification of documents prior to the start of the online exam, for which you need to be at the centre early. You must have the following documents at the exam centre for both, the preliminary exam and the main exam:
  1. The valid Call Letter for the respective date and session of the exam.
  2. An original Photo-identity proof (as specified in the official notification) in original bearing the same name as it appears on the call letter/ application form.
  3. Photocopy of photo-identity proof as mentioned above.


Additionally, Biometric data will be taken on the day of the online Main exam, before the exam begins and after the exam ends. It will also be captured at the time of document verification before the interview and at the time of joining if provisionally allotted. Although Biometric data capturing is mandatory for all candidates, it is optional to provide your Aadhar Card or Aadhar enrolment number in the application.

Application fee

The application fee should be paid online only from 14th August to 4th September 2018. The fee is Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates and Rs.600/- for all other candidates.

How to apply

Submit your application online from 14th August 2018 to 4th September 2018 at the IBPS Recruitment Exam official website after first registering via the link of 'New Registration'.

Before applying, read the official notification which is available via a link on the portal's home page. Also, ensure that you keep ready all the requisite documents, along with a scanned photo (4.5cm × 3.5cm) and signature (this should not be in capital letters). A hand-written declaration should also be uploaded, with the text "I,_______ (your name), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required." You must also have a valid personal email ID.

On successful completion of the online application, take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form. Do not send these to IBPS or to any Bank. You need to retain them along you're your registration number and password for future reference.

  12. Date of interview: January/February 2018.
  13. Provisional Allotment: April 2019.
