Thanks to Mr. Jha for reading this article. NSOI started functioning in 1998 and over a period of 20 years, this Open University has spread its reach in every corner of West Bengal. It is now competing with IGNOU in respect of a number of courses. The study materials are well-developed and examinations are being held in time. Further, the vocational courses of the University (some of which are in collaboration with George Telegraph Training Institute) are very useful. The PhD curricula have been revamped and the PhD programmes in various Schools is going to be re-started very soon, most probably by next academic year.

I wish NSOI further spreads its wings and helps the underprivileged students to continue their education.
