Overview of the Kuvempu UniversityThe distance education programmes of Kuvempu University was started in the year 2002-03 through the Directorate of Distance Education. It was established in 1987 with a commitment towards distinctive academic profile and to the rural structure with a modern spirit. The university offers includes 50 postgraduate departments of studies in the areas of Arts, Science, Commerce, Education and Law. There are 133 affiliated colleges in 4 districts of Shimoga, Chitradurga, Chikmagalur and Davanagere.
The campus is located in a lush green location of 230 acres, which provides an appealing ambience for higher education. The university is located at Shankaraghatta which is at a distance of about 28 km from Shimoga. Post Graduate Programmes
Eligibility Criteria for Masters Degree program : The candidates should have completed graduation course (three years) in the relevant subjects from a recognized university. The candidate should pass the entrance test conducted by the university. The weight-age given for the entrance and qualifying exam is 50:50.
Graduate ProgrammesThe graduate programs are offered in Arts, Commerce, Business Administration, Science(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Chemistry, Botany, Zoology)Library Science (one-year duration).
Eligibility Criteria for bachelors degree program: The candidates should have completed) PUC/10+2 course in the relevant subjects from a recognized university. The candidate should pass the entrance test conducted by the university. Candidates who have passed ITI or vocational course from any recognized university within Karnataka are eligible for the bachelor's degree program in Arts, Commerce, Business Management and Science.
Post Graduate Diploma Programmes (one year duration)The short-term duration courses include Kannada Computers, Kannada Journalism, Translation Studies, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Tourism & Hospitality Management and Industrial Safety.

Application ProcessThe candidates can obtain the application form and prospectus from the approved study centre by paying the prescribed fee. The application form can also be obtained from the directors' office either by post or in person. Under no circumstances, the fee paid by the candidates will be refunded after the admission is confirmed. Application form duly completed, along with the details of the fee paid/ challan and the marks cards of the qualifying examination is to be submitted to the headquarters at Jnanasahyadri, Shankaraghatta for verification and confirmation of the admission through post or in person. The original documents would be returned immediately. The verification of the application and the confirmation of the admission will be done at the P.G. Centre, kadur (8762864129)and P.G.
