Ring and Track your missing Android Mobile Phone using Google

Do you often keep your Android mobile silent and it goes missing even at work or at home? Do you often struggle to find your mobile and it cannot ring as it is silent, so all efforts are wasted of calling your mobile from a different number, to find it? This article explains how you can locate (track) your android smartphone or how can you even ring your Silent mobile using Google services.

Almost every day, we are glued to our mobile phones and we sense the moment we have lost it, to it is hidden below a pile of files, under the sofa cushion, over the fridge etc. But most of the time, we often have this habit of keeping mobile on silent mode. Maybe it is silent as we're working on something important and now forgot to change it to General mode. So now when start to look for it, we cannot find it. If we try ringing for it, it is on silent. What to do? You can follow some of the steps below, and look out if this enables you to find your phone (android mobiles, where you generally add your Google account to start with).

Steps to Ring the Android Mobile remotely

These steps can help to locate the last location (if the mobile GPS service was active, which is generally the case since we are using so many applications (Mobile Apps) on our mobile every day. Most of the application demand open GPS tracking, to allow push notifications based on the device location.

  1. Open the URL in your browser "https://myaccount.google.com" - This will redirect you to your Google login page, and will ask you to enter the email and password. Make sure you open the same email which is connected to your android mobile account settings.
  2. As soon as you logged in, you can see a dashboard of your profile. It might look something like this below. All information relevant for your profile is mentioned in their respective columns or sections.

  4. Check the option for Find your phone, under the tab "Sign-in and Security" section. The section has been highlighted for your reference in the image below.

  6. Click on this section and you will notice it asks you to select the device. This is because in many cases, we have multiple mobiles, tablets linked to our Google account. Out of the devices listed below, you can select your mobile (which you wish to track or find as of now).

  8. As soon as you selected the mobile, you can see, more options to track the selected device (mobile in this case). If you are sure, the mobile is at home and you wish to ring it, choose the option to Ring.
  9. Even if your mobile is silent, this Ring feature, will find and ring your mobile, using the default Google tone. As you can see you can also track the location of the mobile if it is not close by

Steps to Track the Android Mobile remotely

In order to track the same device, you can follow the above steps, until the point where we ring it. Now in order to Track the device location (to find its last tracked Google GPS enabled location), we can choose the option, Track, as shown in the image above.
Once you will click the option, you can easily see the device location as below.

In order to stay up to date and avoid the issues with these steps, make sure to follow:
  • Always keep your GPS enabled on your device
  • Always connect your google account on your android device, it not only helps in tracking but also sync your data with the cloud, such as Contacts and Pictures.
  • Follow security screens, on have passwords enabled to open your device, so that data cannot be viewed or copied later
  • Stay away from downloading any other app for specific to this purpose, Google has inbuilt service and there is security, unlike other apps, where you have to allow them to read and track your device
