How to submit PAAR registration online for AIIMS-MBBS Entrance Exam

Are you going to register online for the AIIMS-MBBS 2019 entrance exam? This article is a ready reference guide to the new Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration (PAAR) procedure for online basic and advanced registration for AIIMS-MBBS entrance exams.

For the 2019 MBBS entrance exam and subsequent years, the Assistant Controller, Examination Section of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has issued the notification about the newly initiated Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration (PAAR) facility. This involves two stages, with a basic registration first and then a final registration later. The aim is to give all applicants sufficient time to fill up basic details, have these screened and permit the applicants to correct errors so as to avoid their application being rejected later.

Brief overview of AIIMS MBBS course

The duration of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) course of AIIMS is five and a half academic years, which includes one year's compulsory internship. The course is offered at AIIMS, New Delhi and also at 14 other AIIMS at Bathinda, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Deogarh, Gorakhpur, Jodhpur, Kalyani, Mangalagiri, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rae Bareli, Rishikesh and Telangana.

To be eligible for the MBBS course, you must have attained or will attain the age of 17 years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission.

The educational qualification eligibility criteria for AIIMS M.B.B.S. is as follows –
You should have passed the 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/ Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent exam (for which a certificate should be submitted to prove it is an equivalent) of a recognized University/ Board of any Indian State. The exam should be with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. Those who appeared for or are appearing at the qualifying exam with these as the main subjects and expect to pass the exam with the required percentage of marks are also eligible to apply and appear in the MBBS entrance exam. However, their application will be considered only if they provide documentary evidence of having passed the qualifying exam with the requisite subjects and percentage of marks. The minimum aggregate of the marks in the subjects mentioned is 60% for General and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST/PWBD candidates.

The career scope after completing MBBS is immense, of course, in the medical and health sector. You could even follow a unique path as a Sports Medicine Doctor .

How PAAR works

Those aspiring to gain admission to the AIIMS-MBBS course have to first fill up the basic registration form, this including basic details and uploading of requisite documents and the photo six months in advance of the entrance exam. Before this initial registration process, you can check out the prospectus and know information about the course at the official website.

Once you have submitted the details, you will be intimated whether or not your registration has been accepted. The details submitted will be stored in the online system and you will receive a unique identification number. In case you are informed that some detail(s) have not been provided or that some data is incorrectly entered, you will be able to do rectify it. Once the basic registration process is closed (this will be on a pre-announced date prior to the entrance exam), then nobody can submit an application for that academic year's MBBS course .

If your application for the basic registration process is accepted, then only you are eligible to submit information for the final registration process. In case you opt not to appear for the AIIMS-MBBS entrance exam for the current year, then you do not need to fill in the final registration process. You can appear for the entrance exam for the next subsequent year. At that time, then, you do not need to again fill in the basic registration details as these will be already stored in the system. It is only the final registration process which will be required to be completed each time in subsequent years.

Once you have filled in the details for the final registration process and this is accepted on fulfilling the eligibility requirements as listed in the prospectus, you will be issued an Admit Card for the entrance exam.

About the AIIMS-MBBS entrance exam

The entrance test is a Computer Based Test (CBT) in online mode only, for the duration of 3½ hours. The questions are based on 10+2 (Class 12) Scheme/Intermediate science subjects. There is one paper with 200 Objective Type (Multiple Choice and Reason-Assertion type) questions of the following –

How to apply

The next step is to read all the instructions which provide the step by step guide for the various stages of the registration form.
