Araku ValleyAraku Valley is a famous hill station and summer resort of Andhra Pradesh. This valley is also popularly known as 'Andhra Ooty'. Araku is a beautiful village of Dumbriguda Mandal of Visakhapatnam district. It is 112 Km. away from Visakhapatnam district. A fine ghat road takes the visitors to Araku which is at a height of 1170 meters. As we go to the top we can have a picturesque view of the valley which is situated 975 meters above Sea level. Araku valley is the home of 17 ancient tribes which have kept their traditions and customs alive even today. People exhibit traditional folk dance Dhimsa for the delight of visitors even today. Visitors also can reach Araku by train through winding tunnels of Borra Caves and it would give a breath-taking lifelong experience for the visitors. The distance from Borra Caves to Araku Valley is 30 Km. The train has to pass through 56 tunnels to reach from Borra Caves to Araku valley.
Padmavathi Garden House in Araku Valley attracts the visitors so much with its natural beauty and the huts which are constructed on the trees for the visitors to stay in them. Visitors admire the experience of living in these huts which appear to hang from the trees along with cold climate. Statues which were recently built like a Tribal woman, Mermaid statue, freedom fighter Alluri Sitaramaraju statue, Toy Train etc. in this garden attract visitors. Sri Venkateswara Swami TempleIt is the most famous historical temple located on the seventh peak of Tirumala hill in Chittoor district of A.P. The temple is located on the south of Swami Pushkarani river. The temple area covers 2.2 acres of land. It is one of the richest temples in the world and also the second most frequently visited temple of the world.

Srisaila Mallikarjuna Swamy TempleThis is one of the most historical Siva temple located in Srisailam of Kurnool district of A.P. The temple is located at the top of Nallamalai range of hills at an altitude of 457 meters. The peak of this temple is at an altitude of 950 meters and is popularly known as Srisaila Sikharam. From the top of Srisaila Sikharam, we get a beautiful view of the temple as well as the beautiful valley that surrounds it. In this temple, Siva appears as Mallikarjuna and Goddess Parvathi appears as Braharamba. The Siva Linga present here is one of the antique Dwadasa Jyotirlingas of the country. Pilgrims can touch the main Linga in this temple without any discrimination. River Krishna flows down the valley as Akasha Ganga. Pilgrims take a holy bath under Paathala Ganga.
Lepakshi DarshanLepakshi is a historical place situated in Anantapur district of A.P. It is located 15 Km. away from Hindupur and 120 Km. away from Banglore. A large Nandi Bull made out of single rock can be seen in a garden at the entry of the city. It is one of the largest monolithic sculpture found in the World. Just 200 meters away from this place an ancient Veerabhadra Swamy temple built by Vijayanagara king's period can be seen. The idols of this temple interestingly located facing north side. In this temple complex, a Shiva Ling in an open place over which a hooded serpent curled over the Linga and raised to a height of 30 meters can be seen. The temple complex here shows architecturally decorated Mandaps, beautifully sculptured pillars and the walls are carved with mural paintings depicted from Ramayana and Maha Bharat.
MantralayamIt is one of the most famous Sri Raghavendra Swamy temple located 100 Km. away from Kurnool and 10 Km. away from Adoni. This temple is located in the surroundings of the Tungabhadra river. Along with the Holy Brindavanam of Madhva saint Sri Raghavendra Swamy several important temples can be seen in this place. Very near to this place an ancient famous temple Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy temple can be seen. Lord Hanuman has five heads-Lord Varsha, Garuda, Hanuman, Narasimha, and Hyagreeva. Apart from Lord Anjaneya, other Gods like Venkateswara Swamy in Kurma avatar along with Maha Lakshmi can be seen in the temple complex. We can see beautiful natural rock formations on the way to this temple. Good transport facilities as well as accommodation facilities are available to visit Mantralayam.
Papikondalu Wild Life SanctuaryPapikondalu National Park is situated between the region East Godavari and West Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh. It roughly covers an area of 1012 Sq. Km. area. This nature bound beautiful site is located 60 Km. away from Rajahmundry and 410 Km. away from Hyderabad. Papikondalu is an awestruck serene, peaceful and amazing place with a beautiful backdrop of mountains, hills, and canopy of evergreen trees. This place is popularly known as 'Andhra Kashmir'. In the summer season also this place is very cool and pleasant. A travel through the boat in Godavari river between two hillocks at Papikonda is a memorable lifelong experience for anybody. A beautiful waterfall can be seen in Bhadrachalam at Munivatam. At the same place, we can see a Siva Lingam which is hooded by a Serpent.

Sri KalahastiSri Kalahasteeswaralayam is the ancient temple situated in Sri Kalahasti which is a town of Chittoor district. This place is 36 km. away from Tirupati. This temple is located on the banks of Swarnamukhi river between two hills. Here in this temple, Shiva appears as Vayulinga. According to Puranas, a spider, a snake, and an elephant used to worship this deity on which this name was given to this place. The flickering flame of one of the lamps inside the temple is an indication of the presence of Vayulinga. An attractive 100 pillar Mandapam built by Srikrishna Devaraya can be seen here.
Bezawada Kanaka DurgaBezawada Kanaka Durga a historical and most famous temple in South India located on the banks of Krishna river. The deity Kanaka Durga is said to be a Swayambuvuhu and the temple is one of the shakti peetham. This temple is located at the top of Indrakeeladri hills which provide a picturesque beauty to the temple. According to legendary tales, Arjuna, the mighty warrior of Mahabharatha, received Pasupathastra weapon here and to honor her he constructed this temple at this place. Arasavelli Suryanarayana TempleNext to Konark Sun Temple, Arasavelli Suryanarayana temple is one of the most famous and historical temples located in Arasavelli village of Srikakulam district. Arasavelli is just 3 Km. away from Srikakulam city. According to legendary tales, saint Kashyap established God Sun in this place for the welfare of the people. One interesting thing about this temple is every year in the months of March and October 9 th to 12 th from 6 A.M. to 6.30 A.M. Sun's rays directly touch the feet of God. Rushikonda Beach in VisakhapatnamThis beautiful beach is situated just 8Km. away from Visakhapatnam city. It is situated on the coast of Bay Bengal. I did not know that Andhra Pradesh is having so many places to visit. The hill station Araku seems to be a place of top choice as it is at such an elevation and will definitely help in getting relieved from the heat down below.
