Introduction Board exams for class X and XII are of prime importance for a school student. Further higher education and subsequently a career in one's chosen field depends a lot upon these two very vital exams. Board exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE have a lot of value attached to them. The exams are well respected everywhere, in every university and college in the country and even abroad. It is every student's dream to do his or her best in these two most crucial exams in a student's life. As such, one strives to give his best to do well in them. Since the exams cover the entire syllabus, it requires concerted effort and a certain strategy to prepare for them. Since, both the 10th and 12th class board exams are around the corner, it is essential that the students and their parents should be aware of the dates of the exam, so that they can prepare accordingly.
Advance conduct of Class X and XII board exams The date sheet for class X and XII exams were published by the Controller of Examinations, CBSE in its website on 23 December 2018. As was conveyed earlier, the exams will start from the month of February itself. This was done to ensure that the exams are all over by March or first week of April so that there is enough time for CBSE to announce the results before the admissions to different colleges and institutions start. Earlier, because of the exams stretching till late April, the results used to get delayed. The subsequent admission process used to get hampered and students were put to difficulty. The early declaration of the results somewhere in the first week of June will ensure that students don't have to scramble for admission at the last moment. Thus the CBSE arrived at the ruling of advancing the exams to the month of February itself. However, only the vocational subjects will be conducted in February. The rest of the core subjects, like Math, Science, Physics, Social Science, languages, etc. will be conducted by March only.
Date sheet – Class X As per the date sheet for Class X the first paper begins on 21 February 2019. The paper is e-publishing and e-office, a vocational subject. Similarly, other vocational papers like painting, music, retailing, security, tourism, agriculture, food production, automobile technology, front office and so on will be conducted by February itself. The last vocational paper Info Technology will be conducted on 02 March. The language papers will begin on 05 March and the first core subject Math on 07 March. The last exam will be on 29 March 2019 and the paper is Social Science. In between, there is a whole range of subjects and papers, with a few days gap between them, allowing the students a break and to give some last moment touch to their preparation. The language papers will be conducted on a wide range of languages, both local and foreign. The datesheet has all details regarding the dates, timing, duration, subject name, code, etc.
Date sheet – Class XII Similarly, the date sheet for class XII gives the details of date of exam of each and every paper. The class XII exams begin on 15 February 2019 and there are five papers on this day, all of them being vocational ones. There are numerous vocational subjects in class XII and most of them will be over by 27 February. A few will stretch until the first week of April. The first core paper English is on 02 March 2019. The exam ends on 03 April 2019 with two papers on that day, Multimedia and Hospital Management. Language papers will be held in between.
Important points to note

Well in advance, the students should make themselves aware of the date and time of the practical exam.

The private candidates have to contact the Principal of the school for the dates and timing of his or her practical exam. The candidate needs to contact the school before the theory exams are over. In any case, the practical exams are to be completed by 10 April 2019. In case of any change in the centre for the practical exam, the candidate will be notified accordingly.
