National Law University Delhi B.A LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. programs 2019-20 admissions

The National Law University Delhi also known as Delhi NLU was established in the year 2008 as a premier Law University. This is located in India's capital city. For the year 2019-20, the University invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LLM. and Ph.D. programs. Let us check out the details of those programs including its eligibility and total seats.

B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)

  • Duration: 5 years
  • Eligibility: Candidates with 50% marks in Senior Secondary School examination(10 +2) or equivalent exams are eligible to apply for this program. Those appearing for the final 12th examination in March/April 2019 are also eligible to apply. Foreign nationals are exempted from AILET exams but in order to be eligible they must have scored 65% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Seats: Among the total seats of 80, 70 will be based on merit through AILET while the remaining 10 seats will be given on merit directly to Foreign national. This 10 seats will be divided like this - 5 for Foreign nationals while 5 for OCI/PIO. Also, there will be 2 additional supernumerary seats for J & K residents and one additional supernumerary seats for migrants of Kashmir
  • Is there any reservations?: Yes, there will be a reservation of 15% for SC candidates, 5% for persons suffering from disabilities and 7.5% for ST candidates.


LLM

  • Duration: 1 year
  • Eligibility: Candidates with 55% marks in LLB or an equivalent law degree are eligible to apply for this program. But SC/ST/Persons with disability require only 50% marks. Final year LLB students appearing for April/May 2019 exam are also eligible to apply for this course. Foreign nationals are exempted from AILET exams
  • Seats: Among the 80 total seats, 70 will be on merit through AILET while 10 seats will be on merit to Foreign nationals. This 10 seats will be divided like this - 5 for foreign nationals while 5 for OCI/PIO. There will be one additional supernumerary seats for migrants of Kashmir
  • Reservations: There will be a reservation of 15% for SC candidates, 5% for persons suffering from disabilities and 7.5% for ST candidates


Ph.D program

  • Eligibility: Candidates with 55% marks in LLM degree or its equivalent are eligible to apply for this program. But in the case of SC/ST/Persons with disabilities, only 50% marks are required
  • Number of seats: There will be a total of 08 seats

The admission will be done through AILET.

The test centers will be at Bhopal, Bangalore, Cuttack, Chennai, Cochin, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur.

Application fees

BPL candidates of SC/ST category are exempted from application fees.
  • General category: Rs 3050/- (Three thousand fifty only)
  • SC/ST and persons with disability: Rs 1050/- (One thousand fifty only)
