Vasantholsavam 2019, also known as the festival of flowers will be held at Trivandrum, Kerala's capital city from January 11-20. This mega event is organized by Kerala's Tourism Department. How to reach?

If you are traveling by car from Thiruvananthapuram railway station, you can reach Kanakakunnu Palace OR Nisagandhi auditorium OR Sooryakanthi auditorium via Mahatma Gandhi Rd or via CV Raman Pillai Rd and it will take only about 10 minutes to cover that 4.5 km.

Vasantholsavam 2019 attractions

The inauguration of this year's festival of flowers will be on January 11, 5:00 PM at Kanakakunnu by honorable Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This event will be attended by famous personalities. In addition, there will be displays from nurseries and institutes like Museum and Zoo, Agriculture College, Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden, Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, Malabar Botanical Garden, Kerala Forest Research Center, Kerala University Botany Department and Poojapura Ayurveda Research Center. There will be special stalls by Forest Dept, Horticorp and Kerala Agriculture Department. Other main attractions include the exhibition of Cymbidium plants, carnation plants, adenium plants, forest sights, water plants and terrariums. You can also get some information about the life of tribal people by seeing the type of foods and medicines used by them. Is there any tickets?

Yes, the entry to this mela is allowed only by means of tickets. Here are the details.
  • Below 5 years: Free
  • 5-12 years: Rs 20/- per person
  • Above 12: Rs 50/- per person

If there is a maximum 50 persons in a school group, then they need to pay only Rs 500/-.

Is there any timing?

The entry to this flower festival is allowed only from 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM.

The tickets will be available at 9 branches of Kerala State Co-operative Banks situated in Trivandrum city from January 9 onward. In addition, there will be 10 ticket counters by Kerala State Co-operative Banks at the main entrance of Kanakakunnu Palace from January 11-20.
