Applications invited for National Aptitude Test in Architecture(NATA) 2019

National Aptitude Test in Architecture(NATA) 2019 conducted by the Council of Architecture has been announced. NATA measures the aptitude of an applicant to become an Architect. So if you are interested to join the B. Arch course for the academic year 2019 in Government Engineering colleges and self-financing Engineering Colleges all over India, you must definitely qualify this NATA exam as the entry to the course will be mainly based on the NATA scores. Apart from that, the candidates must have secured 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry and also a 50% marks at 10+2 level examination. NATA-2019 score will be valid only for admission in the session 2019-20. This year, the exam will be conducted in 2 rounds. The first one will be held on April 14(Timing: 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM, 11:15 AM- 1:15 PM) while the second one is scheduled to be held on July 7(Timing: 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM, 11:15 AM- 1:15 PM). Mode of test

All candidates are requested to report to the exam center by 8:00 AM. The test consists of two parts: Part A comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Mathematics and General Aptitude which is to be answered online while Part B is on drawing, which should be done on A4 size drawing sheets. The questions and all instructions for this NATA 2019 will be available only in English medium. There won't be any negative marking.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks at 10+2 level examination are eligible to appear for this exam. Those who are appearing for the 10+2 exam(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects) in the current year are also eligible to appear for this exam but their NATA-2019 result will be declared valid only if they fulfill the above-mentioned criteria.

NATA 2019 test

As I mentioned earlier, there will be 2 tests for this year. But appearing in the second test is not mandatory and is purely at the discretion of the applicants. Candidates can register themselves either for first test or second or both by filling in the application form. If you are appearing in both the first and second test separately, then you will be issued with a scorecard that contains the best of two test's composite marks.

How to apply?

Interested candidates can apply for NATA 2019 by filling up online at the NATA portal of www.nata.in. First, you need to visit the portal and click the link ONLINE APPLICATION NATA– 2019, from which you will be directed to the actual application form. You need to fill certain steps like personal information, document uploading as well as fee payment. Remember to fill certain fields that are super-scribed with * MUST be filled up as they are MANDATORY, otherwise, your application will not get submitted. And also there is no need to send any document by post.

Do we need to upload any image?

Yes, you need to upload a recent passport size photograph in color and also your own signature. Make sure the documents should be in jpg/jpeg format while the page size of the document must be in A4 format. Application fees

  • General category: Rs 1800(either first test or second test)
  • General category: Rs 3500(both first and second test)
  • SC/ST category: Rs 1500(either first test or second test)
  • SC/ST category: Rs 2800(both first and second test)
  • If you opt to appear from test centres outside the territory of India, then you need to deposit Rs.10000/- for either first or second test and Rs. 18,000/- for appearing in both the tests through online mode


How to submit the application fees?

Candidates can submit the application fees through EPG.
First, you need to click "Payment of fee using EPG services" and the system will automatically redirect you to the available payment gateway page which is displayed at the web site. As per your convenience, you are given the chance to select any of the options to pay the application fee through electronic payment gateway via debit card, credit card or net banking and then follow the online instructions to complete the payment process. After successful payment, the payment gateway will redirect you to the home page which will show the status of fee payment. After doing the payment successfully, you will be able to print the final "Confirmation Page" which denotes a successful proof of registration.

NATA 2019 admit card

All candidates can download the soft copy of the admit card from the website and should appear for the examination with a printed hard copy at the Examination Centre which is indicated in the downloaded admit card along with documents like one original photo identity card- Voter Card/ Pan Card/ Driving Licence /Aadhar Card. You should make sure that the photograph and signature printed on the admit card are not damaged even by accident. Candidates with damaged admit cards will not be allowed to appear for NATA 2019.

Items to bring to the exam centers

  • Downloaded admit card of NATA 2019
  • Original Proof of Identity- Aadhar/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter ID to show the original proof of identity
  • Pen, pencils, eraser, color pencils (No water/oil color or crayon) are allowed while Instruments of any like scale are not permitted
  • You can bring a cardboard or a clip board on which nothing should be
    written


Exam centers

The exam will be conducted in different cities of states like Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Haryana, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Pondicherry, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Dubai. For the city name, please visit the NATA official website. The candidates applying for the exam centre in Dubai will not be given any choice for test centers. Remember Dubai cannot be chosen as second or third choice of exam city.
