Online applications for BITSAT 2019 for integrated degree programs admissions

BITS Pilani is a well known private institute and a Deemed University which offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The institute has released the notification for its common entrance test BITSAT-2019. BITSAT-2019 is a computer based online test for admissions to the Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS Pilani Campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Further, first rank students of all the Central and State Boards in India for the year 2019 who fulfill the eligibility requirements will gain direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2019 score.

B. Pharm program

The B.Pharm program is offered at the Pilani and Hyderabad campus only.

M.Sc. programs

Eligibility requirements

  1. For all programs (other than for Dubai campus, for which BITSAT is not essential) the candidate should have passed the Class 12 exam of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State Board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). The required score in this exam is a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in PCM, with minimum 60% marks in each of the subjects.

  2. For the B.Pharm program's admission, the candidate should have passed the Class 12 exam of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State Board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The candidate can also apply for the Pharmacy program even with PCM subjects. The score in the exam should be a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in PCM/PCB in the exam, with minimum 60% marks in each of the subjects.

  3. Proficiency in English is necessary for admission to all the programs.

Final admission to the BITS program will be based on the merit position based on the scores in BITSAT-2019.

Important Notes:
  1. You should be appearing for the 12th class exam in 2019 or should have passed the 12th exam in 2018 to be eligible to appear for BITSAT-2019.

  2. Those currently studying in BITS at any of the campuses are not permitted to appear for BITSAT-2019.

  3. Those appearing for BITSAT-2019 can seek admission to the Dubai campus.

  4. If you are holding a foreign passport and are having valid SAT scores, then too you are eligible to apply for admissions to the programs at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campus under the International student admission scheme

Registration fee for BITSAT-2019

  • For male candidates: Rs.3150/-.

  • For female candidates: Rs.2650/-.

  • For those selecting Dubai as a center, the Application Fee for both male and female candidates is US $80 (Rs.5600).

Note: The application fee will not be refunded. It can be paid with a credit card/debit card or through Net Banking or through cash payment at any ICICI Bank branches in India along with a specially generated Pay-in Slip.



BITSAT-2019 Test Format

BITSAT-2019 is a computer-based test with 150 multiple choice questions in English only. It is of 3-hours' duration, with no breaks. There are four parts, the test based on the NCERT syllabus for students of Class 11 and 12. The four parts are -
  1. Part I : Physics (40 questions).

  2. Part II: Chemistry (40 questions).

  3. Part III: (a) English Proficiency (15 questions)and (b) Logical Reasoning (10 questions).

  4. Part IV: Mathematics or Biology (For B. Pharm candidates) (45 questions).

At any time, you are allowed to return to a previous question and change the answer to any question. In case you do not skip any question and answer all 150 questions, you will get the option to attempt 12 extra questions if there is any time left. These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology only; four questions from each part. However, note that if you opt for extra questions, then you cannot return to correct an answer to any of the earlier answered 150 questions.

Note: A sample test with features of BITSAT-2019 will be made available at the BITS admission website so that you can practice as many times as you wish.

How to apply

You must first register for BITSAT-2019 online and fill up the prescribed application form. You are allowed to edit the required fields in the online application from 22nd March to 25th March 2019.

Important dates

  1. Last date to apply online for BITSAT-2019: 20th March 2019, 5p.m.

  2. Revision/editing details in the online application form: 22nd March to 25th March 2019.

  3. Test center allotment and announcement to candidates: 27th March 2019.

  4. Dates to reserve the Test date and slot: 28th March to 8th April 2019 .

  5. Dates to download the Hall tickets with instructions: 12th April to 13th May 2019 .

  6. BITSAT Online tests: 16th May to 26th May 2019 (the dates and the number of days may vary from center to center).

  7. Application for admission with Std, 12th marks and Preferences: 16th May to 18th June 2019 .

  8. Admit List and wait-list announcement: 20th June 2019.

The fact that this Institution is unparallel in terms of quality of education and the efficiency of different professors apart from the stimulating environment to nurture their knowledge in the stream allocated to the aspirants on the basis of their performance in the test.
