AIIMS Entrance Exam 2019 for M.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. courses and M. Biotechnology admission

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the schedule of the Entrance Exam 2019 for admission into M.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. courses and M. Biotechnology courses. The applications are to be me made online. Find out the eligibility requirements and important dates of the examinations.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the dates for the entrance exams for the M.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Courses and M. Biotechnology for the academic year beginning 2019. The circular invites online applications for admission into the courses, at AIIMS New Delhi and other AIIMS> A recent circular issued by the AIIMS provides details of the Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration (PAAR) provision for admission to the following Post Graduate programmes –

  • M.Sc. Nursing
  • M.Sc. in various disciplines
  • M. Biotechnology courses

This will facilitate an early and streamlined online registration for the PG courses offered by AIIMS. The registration process will be conducted in three phases, namely –

  • Basic registration
  • Generation of 'code' for the actual registration
  • Final registration with payment of exam fee and selection of exam centre

Important dates for AIIMS Entrance Exam 2019 for M.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. courses and M. Biotechnology

  • Basic registration (PAAR) date: Begins on 07-02-2019 and closes at 17:00 hours on 21-02-2019
  • Status update of Basic Registration: 26-02-2019 (note: applicants can check whether their applicants have been accepted)
  • Correction in the basic registration application of candidates not accepted: 27-02-2019 to 06-03-2019
  • Final status of Basic Registration for M.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Courses and M. Biotechnology: 11-03-2019
  • Prospectus will be uploaded on: 12-03-2019
  • Generation of code for final registration: Begins on 14-03-2019 and closes on 25-03-2019 at 17:00 hours
  • Final registration with payment of fees and city choice: commences on 29-03-2019 and closes on 05-04-2019 at 17:00 hours
  • Tentative date for hosting/uploading of Admit cards for M.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Courses and M. Biotechnology entrance exams at AIIMS: 16-05-2019

Schedule for the entrance exam

The dates and timings for the AIIMS entrance exams for different courses are:

  • The AIIMS Entrance Exam for M.Sc. Nursing will be conducted on 01-06-2019 between 10:00 – 11:30 hours
  • The AIIMS Entrance Exam for M.Sc. Courses will be held on 29-06-2019 between 10:00 – 11:30 hours
  • The AIIMS Entrance Exam for M. Biotechnology is scheduled for 29-06-2019 between 15:00 -16:30 hours

Eligibility criteria for M.Sc. courses 2019 at AIIMS

Who is eligible to apply for the Basic Registration and subsequent admission into one of the M.Sc. Courses 2019?

To be eligible candidates are required to possess any of the following qualifications, with candidates from the General and OBC category having secured a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination and those from the SC/ST category secured a minimum of 55% marks aggregate.

The acceptable qualifying examination for M.Sc. Anatomy, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology and M. Biotechnology are:

  • MBBS/BDS – 55% for General/OBC and 50% for SC/ST
  • B.V.Sc
  • Pharmacy
  • 4 ½ year Bachelor of Physio-Therapy
  • 3 year B.Sc. degree (each subject)

Qualifying examinations accepted for Reproductive Biology, Clinical Embryology, Perfusion Technology, Cardiovascular Imaging, Endovascular Technologies and Nuclear Medicine Technology are:

  • A B.Sc. degree in any discipline associated with to Biology or allied to Biology for M.Sc. in Reproductive Biology and Clinical Embryology
  • A B.Sc. degree with Biology, either Zoology or Botany or a B.Sc. degree in Perfusion Technology
  • A B.Sc. degree in Radiography for an M.Sc. course in Cardiovascular Imaging and Endovascular Technologies
  • Any one of the following qualification for M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine Technology – A B.Sc. degree in Nuclear Medicine OR a B.Sc. degree in Life Sciences with Physics as a subject OR a B.Sc. degree with Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics OR a B.Sc. degree in an allied/related subject such as Radiotherapy/Radio Diagnosis
  • The qualifying degree for an M.Sc. Cardiovascular Imaging and Endovascular Technologies will be a B.Sc. degree in Radiography

Eligibility for M. Biotechnology course offered by AIIMS 2019

The requirements for the M. Biotechnology course are the same as those required for M.Sc. courses. Additionally, candidates with a B.Tech. degree in Biotechnology would be eligible too.

Eligibility criteria for M.Sc. Nursing 2019 offered by AIIMS

Candidates with the following qualifications are eligible to apply for the M. Sc. Nursing entrance exam conducted by AIIMS, provided the course is done from an institution that the Indian Nursing Council recognizes:
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic /B.Sc. Nursing (4 years)
  • Anyone who is a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife or Registration as Nurse with a State Nursing Council, anywhere in India

Important Information

All the courses mentioned under the eligibility criteria for the M. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Courses must be completed from a recognized university.

Applicants are advised to visit the AIIMS official website AIIMS Exam to acquaint with the PAAR registration process. Information about the PAAR is published vide notice No.10/2019.
