Online applications for MHADA March 2019 lottery for Mumbai low budget homes

Want to know the location of Mumbai flats available for sale in the 2019 MHADA Lottery? Mumbai Housing & Area Development Board (MHAD), which is a unit of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), has announced the schedule for the sale of 217 homes through a lottery system. 46 of these homes are in Powai and the rest in Chembur. The last date to apply is 13th April 2019. As per MHADA's advertisement, all the homes which are up for sale are having an Occupation Certificate and the completed tenements will be alotted via the lottery on "as is where is basis" in habitable condition.

An important alert: The MHADA advertisement clearly states that the tenements included in the lottery of Building No.8, Kopari, Powai will be allotted after repairs of the building and confirmation of the habitable condition of the building. Further, note that buyers should not apply through fake websites. The official website is given later in this article.

  1. Registration and submission of forms begins on 7th March 2019 at 14.00 hrs.

  2. Registration and submission of forms ends on 13th April 2019 at 23.59 hrs.

  3. Payment should be made by NEFT/RTGS from 7th March 2019 to 13th April 2019 on the working days and during working hours of the respective bank.

  4. EMD acceptance through Debit Card/Credit Card, Internet Banking is from 7th March 2019, 14.00 hrs. up to 13th April 2019, 23.59 hrs.

  5. Lottery draw proposed date: 21st April 2019 at 10 a.m.

EMD (Earnest Money Deposit)

  1. For LIG homes: Rs.20,000/-.

  2. For MIG homes: Rs.30,000/-.

Note: The EMD mentioned above includes the application fee of Rs.336/-. Details of the carpet area, the sale price and the number of tenements is tentative and may change. Other than the price of the home, the applicant will have to pay the stamp duty and the physical possession will be given on producing the requisite receipts of taxes paid.

How to pay EMD

The EMD can be paid via one of the following options:
  1. Debit Card or Credit Card.

  2. Internet banking.


  4. Free Charge Mobile App.

Eligibility requirements to apply

  1. Age criteria: You should have completed 18 years of age to be an applicant.

  2. Residency criteria: You must submit a Domicile Certificate which proves that you have had 15 years of continuous stay within the limits of the State of Maharashtra in the last 20 years. Applicants who are in the reserved category of Central Government employees are exempted from this rule.

  3. Income criteria: The average monthly income for the period of 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2018 should be as follows-
  4. For LIG applicants: Rs.25,001/- to Rs.50,000/-.

  5. For MIG applicants: Rs.50,001/- to Rs.75,000/-.

Important notes for applicants

Do not apply in more than one reservation category in the same code number and no application should be made in more than one income group. You must have your own bank account and PAN card. Hence, you cannot use any other person's bank account. Also, the bank account used for the application should not be a Joint Account, Current Account or NRI account.

How to apply

Applications must be made online only at the official MHADA Lottery-2019 website.

First, you need to register with a username and password. Then proceed to provide personal details, such as your name, address, phone numbers, etc. Then apply online on the same website via the application link which has been provided for the purpose. After the successful submission of your application, take a print out of the acknowledgment. Then proceed to the payment page. The payment of fees can be done online with a Debit Card/Credit Card or through Internet Banking. Offline payments can be made via RTGS/NEFT modes.

Can I fill the form for Chembur before June 02nd '19? The latest upcoming draw was postponed due to the elections for the Lok Sabha.

Although the draw of the lottery has been postponed to 2nd June 2019, the last date to apply has not been extended. It was extended to 24th May 2019 from the earlier date, but no further extensions were announced. The payment process also closed on 24th May 2019. A list of the accepted applications will be uploaded on the official website of MHADA on 30th May 2019, at around 6 p.m.
